the show lacked a lot of things...the poker part was mediocre and could be done a lot better...the live HS game looked fake and could have added some moments like HSP on TV... and the audience it was meant for is too tiny to begin with...i bet few if anyone outside of the poker world watched it...

next concept has to be vetted a lot more and not be 'directed' by a bunch of degens themselves... the show and weekly ideas 'felt' and 'looked' like they were originated by a bunch of kids and not people who know how to make and market a show, ala Jersey Shore that Krantz mentioned

This is one more thing about it, using a ton of online poker slang in a show is ALWAYS going to turn off more of an audience than it will bring it. From my recollection there was way too much stuff akin to "utg+1" when talking about the hands that were going on. The crossover poker shows (HSP, PAD, NBC HU) talk about theory but do so in a fairly shallow way and allow the online kids to discuss it themselves and mock the players on forums like this. Otherwise you're really segmenting possible viewership to a minuscule subset of the total possible viewers.

doesn't quite have the same appeal. I actually enjoyed the show, but only because i can relate somewhat. JoSchmo just wouldnt get it.

i don't know why this would be surprising to anyone. its appeal doesn't go anywhere beyond poker players

(that said...sucks. i enjoyed the show)

the initial story behind the show was interesting. the shows however grew more dull with each week. too bad. also g4 didn't even give it a chance to gain a following by word of mouth because they immediately took down any links to the show. PITY.
