seems like a great spot for party/bwin/zynga to team up with major affiliates to convert these social gamers into RMPs. won't be hard to get them hooked after a free $50...

There could be some way for the play money players to convert a number of play money chips into a very small $ amount of real money every month or two. That could be another way to get a good proportion of them hooked on real money play...

is this just to stick a real money thing on zynga in the hope to tempt people to play real money?

It will only be a fish fest if people can do it direct through their Facebook without creating a new account.

However, will possibly be no multi table, but on the plus side the lack of anonymity in the way that you would be using a Facebook profile could reduce bots and scammers.

This would then require a totally new poker network, segregated from the "main" bwin.party network.
I see no reason in doing so, unless its zynga's part of the deal.

Aren't Zynga games like 20bb deep? Isn't there some weird betting rules? Or have all those been fixed. I tried Zynga Poker like 5 years ago and it was a joke. All the zynga players will be shocked when they hit real money tables.

From this, I assume it is not out of question with Facebook's consent.

EDIT :

A further look into things and infact we all seem to have overlooked the fact Facebook already has a real-money gambling app in full operation. 'Bingo Friendzy'.

It is currently only accessible to UK members.

Interview from a Facebook representative ;

"Real money gaming is a popular and well-regulated activity in the UK, and we are allowing a partner to offer their games to adult users on the Facebook platform in a safe and controlled manner," she told the BBC.

Facebook intends to use age-gating technology to ensure under-18s and "vulnerable people" are unable to access the app.

The social network typically takes a 30% cut of transactions on its network

Real-money poker through Facebook is very much a real possibility and with the latest movements looks more than likely to happen.

Great post. Wow this could be amazing for us then.

Of course they will. If it is easy for the current play money players to quickly deposit in the same client I'm sure there will be enough players deciding to have a quick pop at real money.

It's pointless arguing about it anyway, if it happens it's never gonna be a bad thing; even if it doesn't create another poker boom.

We definitely don't have to argue about it because people ALREADY pay real money for play Zynga chips. This is happening right now, today- no speculation needed.

This is just the first hit on Google - there are countless other sites. If users are able to "legitimately" do this directly through the platform itself instead of through a 3rd party, it would be huge.

LOL they are not even gamblers, they just like to pay for chips that can not be cashed out...

Zynga Chips 10000 Million = $ 1,998.00 <- this made my day

So If I'm reading this correctly, what's happening is UK Zynga players are going to be able to play on the Party network.

Will the Zynga players have to download a Zynga branded Party software before playing for real money? I assume Zynga poker is browser based at the moment.

What games does Zynga poker offer at the moment?

I'm interested in what games these players will want to play once they've signed up.

I'm assuming it will be flash via FB or there would be no reason for it to be UK only as FB already let's UK players play real money bingo.

But the question is...will they share same player pool as the main bwin.party network or not?

It sounds like they will but who knows at the minute. Would be very little traffic to begin with If it wasn't.

It's explicit in bwin.party's PR that they will share player pool.

People who use zynga are already buying chips, seems like a good move if the chips they bought can actually be redeemed.

It's all about how zynga integrates it's current player pool with the real money poker service they will offer, freerolls, conversion of play chips to real money etc will make or break this imo.

is the conversion rate mentioned going to allow zynga players to convert there current play chip balances to real cash? if so it will be a gold mine (with a decent conversion rate ofc).

conversion is referring to the conversion of players from free play to real money games. Not balances
