People don't want to admit how much harder its gotten. There is still money but it isn't even close to what it used to be. I have spoken to guys who used to play nl1k and now play nl50. The only people who are staying at the same stakes they played ages ago or moving up are guys who've not only worked very hard but done so in the right way (software).
Ivey doesn't seem like the kinda guy to use software like crev (and more likely much more advanced stuff that people have for personal use at the level he plays at.) He does not stand a chance against people who are doing this.
The games he destroyed for millions will be nothing like the games hes playing in now. He could still beat the lineups he won that money in imo but to find games where the regs are like mikey matusow you gotta drop down a LOT of stakes from nosebleeds, which is something he probably won't do.
