The guy seems to have a conscience and actually decided to tell it how it is.

Too bad for the guys hanging on to being a poker pro by their fingernails.

The truth hurts!

You are probably the person who complains about corrupt politicians but thinks its fine to deceive new poker players about the risks of online poker for your own personal gain.

No he doesn't need to lie at all that isn't what I said. I don't know what the BBC asked him to talk about but this was a very negative insight into poker when he could have talked about the positives. I assume there are still many positives as he still plans to play for 3-5 years.

OK, change 'lie' to 'be deceptive' if that makes my point clearer to you.

So, what are the positives for a new recreational player that he should have talked about?

And by that, I mean the positives that don't benefit the multi-tabling pro grinders who stifle the game for newcomers and recreational players alike, but those which would encourage someone to start playing online poker now with an expectation of either financial success or good enjoyment for their monetary input.

I'm interested to see inside your head on this tbh.

That honesty doesnt matter too much anyways bc most people are deluded and think they are gods gift to humanity. I spoke to 3 persons lately who independantly want to get into poker and make money. I told them DONT, i told them why not, i told them to focus on something else.
They all thanked me for the nice chat and each of them strongly thinks they are going to make it. For them it doesnt matter that i played for a living for almost a decade and that i want to get out asap.

So each of them will have to learn it teh hard way and lose couples of 100s or 1000s in teh process until they reevaluate and think "maybe teh timstone was right"
YOu only want the fish for yourself, thats why u tell them to do sth else. TimStone at his best.

As long as you don't declare it to be rigged, probably any exposure of gambling is +ev for any other professional gamblers. That you can present it as challenging, competitive and skill-based but that still as a professional, you remain in control ie choose when you want to play, retire still talks to the fish and weak reg element.
