So funny, I was just on Cardplayer reading this and was about to make a post about it here. You beat me to it, although I have a completely different view than OP evidently.

Here was my comment on Card Player:

Brunson - Really? The poker HOF was sort of a joke already, but this makes it completely irrelevant to me. Also to even consider a player like Eli Elezra is blasphemy! Do you think Todd makes it if he had a different last name? I am sure he is a good player in the games he plays in, but we are talking about the HOF. A HOF is supposed to be made up of the greatest players of ALL TIME, along with those that had the most influence on the game and/or contributed the most towards the advancement of the game. Do you really think TB is one of the top 50 or so that fit into this category? To consider Eli Elezra as well? Are we serious? Am I missing something or way off base on this?

To me, Todd Brunson would be like voting Jason Giambi into the Baseball HOF.

Mortensen was definitely the strongest nominee this year. Would've preferred a lot of other players over Todd though, Huck Seed being a favorite of mine.

This might be surprising, but the presidential race gets a little more attention than the Poker Hall of Fame - and people tend to hold presidential candidates to just a little higher standard than poker players.

Kind of surprised at people that have been around here for a while who haven't seen that - I thought it pretty thoroughly made the rounds at the time. Not sure if the video is still online; I can't seem to find it.

Edit to add: I forgot how old that was - I see reference to it on our forums as far back as June 2010.

Can you fold your way up to hall of fame? Otherwise i have no idea how brunson got there
