i currently have a $50 comp chair from wal mart and find that all of the time i am uncomfortable and sessions get cut short...can anyone point me in the right direction?

also money is kind of a factor so something under 500 would be ideal...feel free to post over the top "balla" chairs just for entertainment value...

Choice of chairs is going to be fairly subjective, lots of people are looking for different things in a chair(adjustable,firmness,high/low back, upright/leanback relax). Whatever your peference i definitley recommend getting at least a mid-high quality chair. ITs amazing how much bette poker you can play when youre not thinking about how much your back hurts : P

Aeron and freedom chair seem pretty good.

someone in HSNL recommended something else as well cant remember what/who.

I have an aeron and love it fwiw, it may piss some people off that it doesnt come with a headrest though but after a week or two you should be fine.

I sit in an Aeron every day at work and it's not worth the price. I feel the same level of comfort when I go home and grind for 3 hours in my $100 chair from Office Depot.

You may have the same comfort but I bet the aeron keeps you in a better posture.

I can sit in my aeron for 10hrs straight and not get any muscular discomfort, I bet you cant say the same for your home office chair.

I don't sit for 10 hrs straight in my chair at home that often (typically 2-4 hours) but I've never encountered any posture-related discomfort with it.

I couldn't possibly disagree more with goofyballer. I've owned tons of office chairs, and I would pay 5K to keep my Aeron if I had to.

I like the traditional old style executive chairs that are built solidly and have good padding. Quite comfy and they last forever.

whatever you do, don't buy a cheap chair that has the back held on by the armrests, they don't last long.

Aye, unfortunatly 3 hours is no time at all and you can prob get away with a cheaper chair. Ive done many 12+ hours in crap chairs and it blows so badly. Id rather just lie in bed and play, and have : P

If you know your gonna be puttin lots of hours on it..splurge for best you reasonabley afford. your body will thank you

lol I got mine from wal mart too for like $70-80 or something, comes in a ****ty box and u put it together.

UPGRADE like I will this week, would like one of those those nice chairs with comfy arm rests + good back support. Current one epic fails in these 2 catagories.

I'm also looking for a chair and read up on the different types.... Wouldn't the 24-hour chair or Multi task chairs be more appropriate than a regular cheap swivel chair?

Any one use those chairs and is it comfortable for long bouts?

I bought an aeron and don't really love it. It is a great chair but I like to lean back and without a headrest it just isn't ideal for that. I think I'm gonna try to sell it and get a freedom.

Some prefer one, some the other. I prefer Aeron. I found the Leap to be slightly uncomfortable. I suppose it depends a lot on your natural posture sitting preferences. You'll just have to try them both and reach your own conclusion. Either one is far superior to most of what's out there, though.
