Cliffs:
Changes will result in 4% higher rake
Rebuys/add-ons raked
HU cash rake increasing
Some rake decreases in cash
evaluate?

"The above chart demonstrates the comparative level of rake that would be taken by PokerStars if we used the cash game rake structures of other sites (instead of our own)." I dont understand? Why aren't they using their own rake structure for the graph?

they want to make it look not so bad so they are comparing to other sites with significantly higher rakeback

It's baffling how Canadian circus people have such a propensity to lose money in their online poker ventures. The one guy you all might know from FTP days, and then this sad clown Baazov who spent $4B on a poker site, did his magic trick and poof it's gone.

AmayaStars prob thinks these changes won't affect rec traffic, but...

Some of you might know whose graph that is, but I'm gonna leave screen name out. He was famous for keeping the LHE community afloat almost single-handedly, 1-tabling all the time and still achieving SNE well before December year after year. Coincidentally he has stopped playing altogether after the infamous November SNE abolishment/rake increase news.

Rake is a tax, and the more you increase taxes, the less economic activity you will have. Economics 101 plz AmayaStars. Trying to increase rake ultimately got you to a situation where you're no longer receiving rake at all.

Wow. Ashkenazi and Baazov really hate regs. And traffic.

I mean maybe that guy quit because he lost 2 mirrion, not because he was not getting enough FPP points back. Maybe not, I don't know who it is or how superrich he is or what his motivations are. Usually those cash cows die out sooner or later I believe though.

Yeah that is the reason I said it was going to be near the end of this year before they switch.

Gotta preserve that credibility and ethique /sarcasm

They still are going to have to pay those loans at the same rate and the poker market is still going to contract and operation costs (getting in the US/bribing Russians) this year in general.

What other choices will they have? They can't hike rake several times a year. So you put the rake increase first. Then Multi-Entry MTTs.

Just received an email from them that says "We are making changes to specific ring game rake and tournament fees, effective March 21"
The blog post says March 28th.

Don't worry, you'll get another dollar of equity in a freeroll in another 3 months.

It has, no?

From what I can see rake caps have been lowered at NLHE/PLO50-200. Actually substantially lowered at 0.25/0.50?

Edit: For 6max. Certainly not for HU

but % is higher I think... now 5% at nl200 I think used to be 4,5% someone would have to confirm, max rake per hand did go from 3$ to 2,75$
