No. There aren't. I promise you. Just considering the possibility that such a ludicrous group of people might exist nearly made my head explode.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a current example:

The new South Park dissed gold just like Bernanke did the other day.

An old Twilight Zone that is rarely shown called "The Rip Van Wrinkle Caper" was on TV days after Bernanke's gold statement. In the episode, 4 guys steal 1 million in gold bricks, then enter suspended animation machines that wake them in 100 years in order to avoid capture and have a form of currency in their new era. Yada yada yada they kill each other over the gold and when a future couple happens upon the last dying man, there was this exchange:

"...the man named George gets back into his car to report Farwell's death to the police, he quizzically remarks to his wife, "Can you imagine that? He offered this to me as if it was really worth something." The wife vaguely recalls that it had indeed been valuable at some time in the distant past. The husband replies, "Sure, about a hundred years or so ago, before they found a way of manufacturing it," and tosses the gold bar away.

I'm sure there are tons of other anti-gold sentiments on other shows right now. Fortunately, it seems the government is on our side regarding poker. The Simpsons episode should give us an idea of exactly what Washington's stance is.

lol, relax dude... i have no idea why gold is so important to you, but nobody is basing their opinion on monetary policy on something they saw on South Park or Twilight Zone reruns.

I would be willing to bet Laak has more poker magic left in the tank. You might be right about Tilly but cmon she was in Liar Liar! She's got enough fame to outlast any poker-malpractice.

Plus didn't Tilly win the ladies wsop event? She should get a long pass just for that.

This thread was a lot better during Posts 1-9. Took a real substantial decline at Post 14. I always loved this thread as a kid, but nowadays I find it hard to watch.

Except that it has changed. Most fans feel that the show dropped off somewhere between 7 and 13. I don't know anyone that still thinks it's good. I'd be really surprised to hear anyone (that actually knows anything about The Simpsons) say that season 19 or 20 was so much better.

Personally, I like most of the episodes up through 11 and there's a couple episodes of 12 that I enjoy. After that... not so much.

RIP Simpsons. You had one hell of a run.

It's kind of crazy to think that the show's been bad now for as many seasons as it was good.

Yep, it's very standard for a show to have a few lackluster seasons after it's glory years before it's ultimately cancelled, we're all familiar with the whole jumping the shark phenomenon...

The Simpsons was such a juggernaut and still profitable so it's lackluster years have just kept going and going. It's like an old family dog that everyone loves so much and it's sick and in pain but nobody can bear to put it down even though that's what best for it.

And lol at the position of the simpsons in american culture now. I guess this is what happens when you don't have a royal family.
LOL, right, who made out better on that difference, not to mention the UK's negative ROI on propping up that in-bred clan of hemophiliacs we threw out of the States a couple of hundred years ago. ?

Simply not the case. You're completely disregarding the views of children born late 90's and 2000's. These kids in 10 years time will be moaning how seasons 15-30 were so great and how the show is jumping the shark.
