they confiscated the DOMAIN NAMES. .com is a US based TLD, and most of the root servers are here as well.

This isn't particularly meaningful by itself, it just makes stars/tilt/ap jump through hoops as far as the domain names they use.

They did this to bodog too, and I bet noone even remembers that.

I remember a site also being confiscated by the FBI recently -- can't remember the name of it, but it was one that streamed TV shows, pay-per-view events, etc.

It had the exact same message as this one. And several online news outlets reported it indeed was taken over by the feds.
This site was called atdhe.net

America is a ****ing joke taking down international websites. They think they own the world.

Still cannot access withdrawal option at cashier on FT... PS seems fine so far.

Anyone else?

In England and just did a $50 test withdrawal from ftp, which went through fine.

Couldn't this simply be a web site hack? Why would multiple (and separate) businesses be affected by some arrest warrant at the exact same time?

Also, only AP is showing up like this for me, and the jpg is named http://www.absolutepoker.com/banner7.jpg - this seems more like hax than something official.

This is what is so frustrating about twitter, why can't they at least link an article or something with more information?
04-15-2011 , 02:04 PM
are they shutting down the websites or the entire poker client?
If they are shutting down the poker client, what about all the legal european, australian, asian etc players who have nothing to do with the stupid uiega crap. How does that affect all the legal players?

Brobama does what he wants. I just don't understand how they could block access to it from countries where online gambling is legal. Last round of domain seizures was Department of Homeland Security and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement going after bootleg music, movies, and software domains.

About 0% chance this is due to state differences imo, probably just the DNS not updated yet.

I get the FBI warning within EU, and someone from UK posted that its the same for him. (Stars has a valid UK license i think?) Would be quite weird if its blocked in EU and working in some US states.

i can withdrawl. should i??
04-15-2011 , 02:05 PM
I think we're missing something here. These sites are charged with illegal gambling (duh) and fraud.

I really, really, really hate to think of this, but ... might UB not be the only one cheating users?
04-15-2011 , 02:06 PM
All of the mentioned+absolte down for me in Austria, can't cash out on ftp either
04-15-2011 , 02:06 PM
i put a request in about an hour ago on ftp to cash out.

also im playing a session currently and nothing has happened to me.
04-15-2011 , 02:06 PM
Also, there is probably no coincidence that this is happening on Apr. 15, the Friday before taxes are due in the states.
04-15-2011 , 02:07 PM
OMFG......Im east coast and ALL still working properly here!
