In the end, we all break even.

Very sad.
I know some people (99% of whom never met him) joked about him since he kinda fell into the 'stake me' lifestyle but ask ANYONE with any time around town who knew him for any length of time, he was a really decent guy. He was also a bastard mother****er to play against in tournaments, which I can confirm. He ground out a life on his own terms, which is something I respect much more than some ******* in a suit and tie, going to some job and dying inside every day.

RIP Paul.

Also: lulz

Quote:
"He had no sense of humor, no personality, but he was gruff, just walking around looking for a place to smoke. He sees this little side door. Doesn't pay attention to the alarm sign, basically that the TSA will attack him. He just — whammy — hits the bar and goes out onto the tarmac at the airport. No one is allowed out there. He goes out there, where by the way there are jet aircrafts and refueling trucks, and he fires up a cigarette in front of the airplanes.

"It should have been on the front page of the paper. They should have shut down the airport. He gets about two puffs, security is all over him, and they were like, 'What are you doing, are you insane?'

Its important to not fall into the 'oh how classy he was' just bc he has passed away' lets honor his scruffy dingy side as to not be too result oriented.

This was the second time an emergency has occurred during the Razz event. During the Razz event final table at the 2007 WSOP Eskimo Clark suffered a stroke. Unlike Cernuto, Clark refused medical treatment, instead opting to eat chicken wings and have a smoke, and continued to play.

Damn shame, I remember watching his 2nd place on the WPT well. Seemed like a proper Vegas character. RIP Eskimo.

Tom Dwan lasted less than 5 years as Phil Hellmuth predicted. Hopefully, he'll be back.

Eskimo became grumpy only after he had turned 60. He was a nice guy before that. We don't know what happens in people's lives to make them change. Let us not judge because we're imperfect and fallible too - plus we all get old. Let's see where the hero Durrr ultimately ends up when he reaches Eskimo's age of 67.

RIP Eskimo. Like the rest of us you weren't perfect but you had the guts to survive outside the system - a goal many poker players even today continue to pursue. You were a relic of the days before multi-accounting, superusers, and websites that stole millions of people's money.

RIP Eskimo. You were one of the first "names" I heard about in the poker world and will always be associated with the good old days in my mind.

This is encouraging. You can trash your body, smoke, eat fried foods every day, sleep sporadically, and spend most of your life in smoke filled rooms in casinos and live to the age of 67. Makes me feel pretty good about my prospects. RIP Eskimo

Eskimo apparently didn't believe that there is such a thing as a Bad Beat. In fact, in this video interview (the only one on Youtube) he was essentially forced to tell a bad beat story. He tried to be enthusiastic in telling it but after telling it he had to go back to saying...

"There's no such thing as a bad beat."
