"I arrived here yesterday (Monday) even though my opening day in EPT Copenhagen isn't until Wednesday. I came for the Scandinavian Poker Awards, where they were rewarding the best players and performances. I was nominated for Online Player of the Year and won. I was genuinely excited about it, it felt great to pick up the trophy, and I want to thank everybody who voted for me... I'm sure we'll have some video stuff of the ceremony later.

Peter Eastgate won two categories and Magdalena in de Betou was the Female player of the year. The Live Player of the Year is of course the Prince of Monaco who NATURALLY couldn't come to the ceremony cause he was too busy stretching and getting electric massages. I'm talking about Batuun Anttuunius in case someone doesn't already know.
After the ceremony there was some standard boozing in the Luux. We had a good Finnish crowd and it went on till the wee hours... I'm sure there's gonna be a video of that, too.

And naturally the Great Dane got his share in my victory speech.

Like I said I'm starting EPT tomorrow so I'll try to go for a little run tonight and take it easy so that for once I'll be in good shape when the tournament starts... we'll see if I can even manage the taking it easy part... Jogging hasn't done much good for my tournament play so far but who knows, maybe some day.

Ziigi needling Gus Hansen but later on Gus came on the stage handing out some award. He then said: Ilari, I'll be online in 90 minutes. Waiting for you...". They were bitching each other later on but all in good sports.

He said in an earlier blog that Gus and he are good friends actually, just dissing eachother in a friendly way.
