True. But if it's an official world record attempt I believe they may test for drugs? If he has a legit prescription then he might be off the hook.

In any case if he's doing $10/20 NLH I will show up at hour 75 and attack him. Wearing a clown suit and speaking in tongues.

I'm going to sit at the table the same time as him and outlast him so he never holds the world record

Phil Laak will attempt to break the world record in poker endurance in June at the Bellagio. His aim is to top the current record of 78 hours of continuous heads up poker set by the British player Paul Zimbler in 2009.

Laak's attempt will start on June 2 at the Bellagio under the watchful eyes of the Guinness Book of World Records officials.

"I have played many enduro sessions of poker, but never anything of this magnitude,” Laak states in a press release. “I know this will test my limits but I love a good challenge and am excited to be trying to beat this record in Vegas’ top poker room."

Paul Zimbler set the current record of 78 hours last year during the WSOP Europe in London.

There are many stories of the old Texas road gamblers playing up to 4 days in row in the private poker dens but of course the Guinness officials weren't present at those sessions.

Had just started playing poker and played for 12 hours continuously in a home game (2 sngs). Completely messed with my mind; got home and bathroom door was jammed, in my head i was like 'is it blufing me? should i raise?'.

Another time i went two nights witout sleep and then had a day at college, was paranoid all day long and on the way home i jumped behind a wall in someone's garden because i thought i was being tailed by undercover agents.

Finally i got really into the nfl draft 1 year, tonnes of research, i would run down how i would shape the ram's roster while on the can. Now whenever i go to drop a deuce i find myself mumbling, qb, rb, wr.

So yeah, this sounds unhealthy to me, Zimbler was absolutely gone after 78 hours.

When I was 18 at Reggae on the River, an epic music festival in Northern California, I stayed awake from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon, probably like 52 hours or so. That was with assistance from my Peruvian connection and Scarface sized chalkers. By Sunday I was a zombie and tried to make a comeback for the last day of the festival with a shower, food and another bump, but epically failed and crashed insanely hard for like 18 hours.

This is a very easy feat to do if you've never taken or are not a regular user of anti depressants.

Long story short. Had a catastrophic event happen earlier in life. Didn't wanna deal, doc gave me a well known name brand. I was up for 5 days straight before I slept. I felt fine. Didn't crash. I just finally got sleepy and slept for about 8 hrs.

Because he's giving a time and a place, I can totally see people joining his table to try to outlast him. I find it intriguing *shrug*

wrong, it's the stale air circulation on the plane that causes blood clots etc, not the sitting down.

One time, I played for 7 hours......7 hours straight. Felt a little tired after session. Went home, slept for 8 hours.

CliffsNotes: Played for 7 hours. Felt tired. Slept for 8 hours.

He should drink throughout. Alcohol thins the blood.

anyone know what kind of break schedule he will have?
I'm assuming he only gets bathroom breaks, maybe 5 min. every 2 hours?

It's a poker game he should be blowing lines while going for this feat.

If anyone was doing drugs while this and last more than 48hrs I would be surprised. If anyone has done speedy drugs would know that after so many hours your body will be so burnt that it will just shut down.
