I'm pretty sure a lot of it is just self branding to keep your "brand" more relevant. I'm sure he's naturally a cry baby and whiner, but I feel some of it is (over-) acting to get himself extra camera time to stay relevant.

In the end it means he gets sponsorships, invitational events, and basically get to freerolls those few WSOP tourneys.

For about 10 years, every time I saw the PokerStars logo, I'd kinda see "PakerStars".

Phil's logo always reminds me of the Quake logo

Have you ever seen a poker player wearing PH branded clothing or accessories in a casino (or anywhere)?

I can't imagine what type of person would go out of their way to spend money on merchandise with "famous player" name/brand on it. Especially if that person is a whiny little bitch. I don't even wear FREE jackets/hoodies/hats with casino logos on them.

Not sure what's worse... a random person wearing PH gear or a passive fish wearing "3-BET" gear but never 3-betting with less than QQ preflop. Pretty close in atrocity.

You've just shown why is better to play tighter if you're wearing 3Bet gear.
