Doyle's opponents would have known about the book. How many live 2-5 players in Vegas know about this interview?

I know sanghi, have played some 2/5 with him and conversed with him outside of poker. He may be one of the most difficult people to understand/digest after first meeting him. He has lots of mannerisms that are misleading and much of the time things he says and what he means by them are opposite, due to awkward social skills.

He's definitely a good 2/5 player and wins at a high rate. He also final tables (I think came in 3rd) in a Venetian main recently. Based on the last conversation I had with him however, he's quitting poker this year, leaving vegas and going to bible college somewhere on the west coast, which he already enrolled in.

You don't get 5th in a Tourney while Mindlessly clicking buttons. He probably Thought you were weak and tried exploiting you post flop. You just did not understand what he was doing because you were mindlessly , calling him aggressively.

More like it's weird that someone crushing 2-5 wants to go to bible school imo.

Sanghi had some issues and found fulfillment and happiness in Jesus so hey good for him on making a change.

Looks like we don't have our next "Doug Lee". More like a mini young Brunson based on the kind of non-poker activities he's into. Doyle Brunson is also a born-again Christian. It happened after he miraculously survived terminal cancer decades ago. This story is in Super/System.

But in that OP interview, Sangni did sound more Hellmuth-ish with those poker god comments.

He posted on his Facebook recently that that interview was taken before his conversion to Christianity

There's a post earlier in the thread that this dude was heavily into prostitutes. It might explain a bit about his case.

Then they think once they become Christian somehow all is forgotten, that specifically is the part that gets me the most. Im not anti/pro religion either, just call it like i see it.

Well, according to Christianity, once you accept Jesus all past sins are forgiven, not forgotten. Haven't you ever forgiven someone for something that they've done to harm or disappoint you?

I believe Doyle's stories about as much as I believe in Santa Clause.
We think of him as this lovable old guy who is a poker god but he was a cheater and straight hustler who I'm sure would have no problem spinning a few tales to sell his books.

Just because something is in print doesn't make it true. This is even more true when the person printing it is the person benefiting from what is being written and there is no way to verify whether or not it's true.

Instead of making statements that are incorrect and insulting a religion that you obviously have no real understanding of, maybe you could spend a little time and actually find out what Christianity really is about.

hypothetically if hitler had an epiphany and decided committing genocide was bad and stopped killing people and found Jesus would he be forgiven? And if so according to Christianity could he then get into heaven?

Serious question, i'm no religious expert. But if so lol religion.

Short answer, yes.

The long answer is too long to go through, but the acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior cleanses all sins beyond human comprehension.

With that said, Hitler would have never accepted the gift of salvation - he was too deranged and evil to realize that he needed a Savior. He was his own savior, in his mind.

This sounds great. How does one go about accepting this Mr Christ? Can I just say it out loud and try to believe it?
