I like Phil Hellmuth because he is entertaining and he is pretty darn good at tournaments. He seems to work very hard at those two things: succeeding in tournament poker and cultivating his image. I admire people of all walks of life who have passion and find a way to succeed.

On the other side of the coin, he is not near the top of the list of players that I look up to most like Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Phil Galfond, Sean Nolan, Abe Limon, and Aaron Wilt just to name a few. I generally admire *cash game* players who have a long history of success. Donkaments are donkaments. While they do require elements of skill, I think cash games are generally the best way to make money and assess a player's skill levels.

Just go ahead and admit that the cash/FT ratio thing isn't all that impressive.

There are many things that Phil has done that are impressive, so no need to hold on to something that isn't that out of line with expectation.
