Major props to Hellmuth.

He used to be a one-trick pony with nearly all of his success coming in Hold'em.

Now he has two Razz titles and has made a few other deep runs in non-hold'em events.

Just scrolled through his $18m+ winnings on Hendon Mob. Sort by prize, and very hard to find high roller except One Drop. Went to Negreanu's, Ivey's, and Colman's Hendon Mob and didn't even have to scroll.
What's going on guys?

In before "Yeah, but he doesn't win in small field High Rollers."

Certainly his very impressive wins-to-FT ratio can be dismissed with "LOL sample size," but I am inclined to believe that his style (which is often found to be laughable in high stakes cash games) may simply be best-suited for tournament success. PH is just ahead of the curve in realizing and applying it unflinchingly, regardless of the scorn he knows he will face from NVG crushers and "but-for-variance" Pros.

Deeb didn't say that. Phil called on some streets when he had a bad run out with a good starting hand. He makes too many frustration plays.

There isn't a competent mix player alive who wouldn't give their right nut to play with Phil every day.

How do I know? I've played mix with Phil Helmuth.

Some folks think hating on Hellmuth sounds cool, and they are desperate to sound cool. Actually these days these "Hellmuth Sucks" posts are just goofy. But that's what a forum is for too so rave on.

Getting your money in bad is bad in every type of poker, tournament, cash, holdem, stud, razz.

Playing every tournament possible is good for bracelet and cashing counts, esp. playing all the 100 entry tourneys.

So why can't more high volume players claim 2 razz bracelets, a WSOPE main event win, and a second in the $50K Players Championship in this decade? Any of these 4 recent accomplishments, let alone all of them?

Because they dont have White Magic.

Everytime Hellmuth adds another jewel to his poker crown people come in with the same lolsamplesize posts, I really feel for them, to be so bitter and miserable.

There isn't a sane person who wouldn't give their right nut to be Phil Hellmuth.

How do I know? 14 bracelets baby.

I think Phil is a great tournament player and exploits every edge on and off the felt to the max. I'm saying he's a **** person.

I only caught a portion of the FT stream (5 or 6 handed iirc) but Deeb was commentating.

Deeb was just pointing out some spots that Phil was a little over-aggressive and gambly, which might have been big ICM mistakes? It might be +EV for a cash game, but not necessarily the best play in a MTT scenario.

An example (iirc) was Gordo completing a six, another player 2-betting, and Hellmuth flatting with a J (presumably with wheel-wheel under).

I don't believe PH plays any high rollers.

53 final tables converted to 14 bracelets though.
Go and slate the HU bracelet holders for only having to beat one player at the final table once the 6 max lot are sick of you.

Pretty unreal people still refuse to give this man credit.

Hes obviously a clown on TV, is ill-tempered and an attention-whore. But hes also obviously an MTT beast. Hes been relevant since 1988. He doesnt inflate his winnings with any HRs/SHRs. Hes got a ridiculous number of 2nd/3rd/4th place finishes in WSOP events. Hes beaten big fields, small fields, medium fields, NLHE, Razz, Stud everything.

People really need to stfu about the lolsamplesize arguments. Some people are just so fkn salty and miserable.
