What is pokerstars trying to do? Could it be that the people who lose HU lose it fast, would otherwise be playing other forms of poker where'd they'd pay more rake per deposit, so the site doesn't even want HU poker to exist?

Stars certainly does a good job in divide and conquer...

Let's begin by stating what has always been stated in threads where bumhunting comes up repeatedly. Poker has always been predatory. Especially in Cash games. Making minor changes to the HU games in the name of "reducing predatory behaviour" is not the worst idea in the world as predatory behavior goes down @ HU more than any other cash format (if im wrong feel free to correct me). The reason why is obv.

That said - Zoom HU is not not heads up poker - But it is also not traditional heads up poker by any means. Weather you bumhunt or not. Weather you tilt or have the strongest mindset. Even if you are a Reg/Pro who has spent hundreds and hundreds of hours playing and studying - HU is a ****ing battle. It's you vs them. It's personal no matter what anyone tells you. What begins as "not personal" even between two very good players often ends up personal.

Short or long - It's psychological warfare. The psychology of the game is what makes it this way. It is also what makes it the game it is.

Removing the one on one tables completely ends HU on stars imo and turns it into a variant of the game that is likely to change again and again. Perhaps ten years from now HU will be barely recognizable.

While I understand how some think this is a good thing for various reasons I think it is absurd they removed all one on one tables. As a long time HU player Zoom HU has never been that interesting to me and I know many others feel the same way.

I'm sure I'm overlooking things / dynamics here but at the end of the day - And this is something we as serious players tend to forget - Poker is a GAME. HU was and is a beautiful game - Which seems to be will not be around much longer.

P.S. The email sent out stating "part of our commitment to reducing predatory behaviour and improving the recreational player experience." is actually REACHING AND BEING READ BY RECREATIONAL PLAYERS as much as regs. Sure some recs realized a while ago (prob a decent ammt) they were being prayed upon at HU in a major way but what stars is doing (inadvertently or not) is INFORMING THEM they are being hunted. Think about it.

But what about a slightly different proposal? HU poker is the most exciting form of poker ever devised, who would argue otherwise? Deepstack big bet HU poker involves the most skill of any poker game, its the truest battle of minds and arbiter of worth. The KOTH is the King. Of. The. Hill. Beauty incarnate, I submit.

So I propose that all other formats be liquidated effective immediately. All poker on AmayaStars will henceforth be of the HU variety, any color you choose so long as its black children. This will of course be perfectly compatible with the Baazofian concept of Rectumschize or the recs above all philosophy.

Let's dump all these tedious formats that could just as well be stand ins for capital punishment once and for all. Let's make poker FUN again, not just for the masochist regs sharecropping massa Davids desiccated landscapes but also for the total degenerate sucker and his self consuming defective bretheren.

Let's make poker Great again! HU zoom for everyone.

Realize the simple truth that PS makes money from the fish who trade pots back and forth, than they do from better players to whom pots usually go to.

You are spot on .... HU is the purest form of poker. And now the biggest/best online site intentionally removed the purest form of poker? It's like taking the heart and soul out of the game.

It's actually very sad. Probably most of us were drawn to poker by the nosebleed battles by the Giants back in the day. It's the only thing in the cash arena that comes close to creating a draw like winning tournaments does.

I would be much happier if they would put a warning when you open a HU table that HU is the most predatory and explain bumhunting and that casual players lose their money faster in HU than any other form. Then click "don't show me this again" option. Then at least they would be more aware and choose to play or not.

I understand some points about pure heads up, but isnt the biggest problem the bumhunters who sit there all day and wont play anyone with half a brain, blocking up to all action? I dont necessarily think it makes any numerical difference to the bum, if the zoom just gets going, as it can after one bum, if he sits there, and then u have like a sh game with one weak player, called a fish cake i think, or just a bum. Or the hunter is the bum. Poker is a glorious game.
