Poker might be considered a "gray" area in Brazil but it's like 90% "white".

While Partypoker blocks signups from Brazilian players, Pokerstars signs Ronaldo. You see the difference.

scary for all the ROW players perspective, if i had funds on party atm would be withdrawing straight away.

Also its pretty ****ed up how business laws for so called "poker companies" are completely different to the laws applied in the real world, they can just snatch money if they want it without anyone being able to touch them

People still play on this garbage site after they emplimented "fairplay" without telling anyone first? I insta left lock when they started it just on principle. And they warned everyone month in advance. This should be the nail in the coffin for party poker.

To think, there was a time where PP was the most dominant poker website.

Has someone from Pokerstars infiltrated Party to sabotage them?

They are doing a great job

Same thing happened in 2006 right? Party takes the conservative approach by backing out before they have any problems. Stars stays until theyre forced to shut down and then deal with the consequences. Thats why stars>party but also why party's owner will never be in jail and stars' owner might at some point.

very tough to operate in an industry where 1 company has such a huge monopoly; but the competition moves lately have been absurd.

Id love to hear their marketing team sell some of these ideas, i think so many of these concepts are myopic and misinformed.

This is a nice little nugget:

Quote:
Party can now be expected to focus efforts in the US and on the key white markets where it operates: the UK, where it recently launched a new skin under the Zynga Poker brand; France, Spain and Italy, where they hold active licenses; and Belgium, where they recently bowed to regulatory pressure and now operate under license exclusively on the bwin.BE brand.

Re: PartyPoker To Block New Signups from 18 European, South American Countries

That article smells a bit inadvertently jingoistic or ignorant. Belarus and Ukraine being listed as too small of markets is shockingly ignorant of the current state of the games. They are some of the largest and highest volume markets at the moment.

What Party meant by 'commercial reasons' is that these countries have too many winning players, as seems to be the windmills for the current sites Quixotian fixation in the search for a magic pill that doesn't involve changing the fact that they're raking the games to death. The sample given from this (http://www.pokertableratings.com/top-countries-year) link at PokerTableRatings, while limited, is almost certainly also indicative of the market as a whole. Ukraine and Belarus are the 6th and 9th largest markets respectively. What makes them unique is that they are some of the only online markets that are winning money in the long run. In fact if you look at the list of countries banned here it's basically a who's who list of winning to small losing countries. This has nothing to do with legal obligations.
