Somewhat inevitable but clearly a land grab

Do people still play at party?

(Serious question - the rake there was huge last check)

"Players wishing to wait for a cash game will join the room-wide waiting list and be randomly seated when a seat that matches their preference becomes available" - This however is AWESOME and should be adopted by every site

Think those changes make sense. Hope Pokerstars follow suit in the near future.

This simply is never going to happen in a stagnated market.

and what percentage of players do you think actually know what rake they are paying if you asked them right now?

I would set the line at 1%-5%

yeah i reckon you are right at around the 5% mark.

Still always looking for some hidden fix when rake is the real reason games are unsustainable, ESPECIALLY below 100nl.

Players will be able to view the last 12 months of their own hand histories within the Missions icon in the partypoker software, but hand histories will no longer be able to be downloaded and saved to their local devices
without partypoker client, No more homework! yeah..

exactly this.

Divide will merely get even bigger when people find work-arounds. Banning seating scripts is great but scrapping HUDs is a really bad idea.
I don't think HUDs are a bad thing (especially compared to scripts) for the poker economy. HUDs don't make you a better player, they merely facilitate multi-tabling (more rake), but it is still up to the individual to interpret the HandHistories in a meaningful manner. Traffic (which is already not great) risks a serious decline on Party after this.

Sure bro, huds dont make you a better player but a script is essentially pushing your game theoretical approach to a redbaron like state.

Next time do me a favour and just write: " i use a hud and want it to stay but i dont use a script and therefore want them to go"

Thanks

I agree with a TimStone post

partypoker dont have the resources to ban huds, already programmers will be looking at other ways to get hud's running, screen grabbing etc. Lets no forget that access to hand histories uncovered some of the biggest scandals in online poker.

Crazy change about huds no longer being allowed at party. In online poker enviroment hud is essential tool for multitabling. They just shoot themselves in the foot with this change.

If every poker site adopted these changes and got rid of hu tables, their ecosystems would be in much healthier shape in a substantial way. The only problem I see is not being about to catch bots and other BS that the site can't find.

Well, it really isnt. Teh essential tool for multitabling is several fish on each of your tables or at least guys you can get an edge on after rake. In teh current smallstakes ecosystem edges reg vs reg are pretty much non existant...

You'd think the amount that they lag behind other sites, they'd be making shrewd, calculating decisions...nope.

Sites have a choice to reduce the amount of winning players and their winnings, thus having a slightly more profitable year,
or admit that their rake is priced so horribly that its combine harvester affect on the poker ecosystem massively reduces player numbers year on year.

Of course they'll all go for the quick buck, winning players will be scarce, so online poker becomes more unpopular, and the best bit, new players still get fu**** and leave.

Reducing player's edges whilst continuing to over-rake the games, to me, is the pilot jumping out with last parachute.

I see the opposite happening honestly. There will be mass tablers jumping ship but I see a bunch of players dropping to 4-6 tables and having much higher winrates cuz of these changes both because of the quality of the player pool and the quality of their own play.

No, they've just realised that they don't need multitablers.

They don't need them slowing down the games, reducing rake and pissing off the recs.

They don't need them consistently busting the fish too quickly and taking money off the site faster than the fish are willing to redeposit.

Good job Party, let's hope others follow suit.
