lots of 2+2ers debating a guys muscle tone ad naseum. Good times.

so he is training just since fight was offered? or has been training since way before? just trying to figure out this is just something he just picked up as a hobby or has been a hobby for years or he has actually fought before.

He has apparently trained in martial arts generally since he was a kid, and in MMA long before the fight was booked. Unsure if he has any competitive fights or just trained.

yea. still rofl about people seeing the pic of liv and deciding hes super focused. wtf does tht even mean. yea most people who fight for 6 fig purses are focused on that, like jc doesnt care or has his mind elsewhere.

if there is no weight limit i'll bet $50 to $100 on the heavier guy if there are any takers. i'll ship first to a reputable person.

you cant build a lot of muscles in a few months, unless you're using something.

JC looks high 24/7, also seems like more of a fanboy if MMA compared to a fighter.

Liv has the perfect ego for this fight, he'd rather die than lose it seems.

Being willing to die really doesn't matter if he doesn't know what he's doing. Superior bjj will be enough to win the fight, though I'd imagine JC will be better standing as well.

First bit is right, but for the second point, ironically cutting body fat down with the same amount of muscle actually does make you look a LOT bigger.

Hopefully they give us the standard fighter stats before the fight (weight, reach, height, etc)

Olivier recently split from his girl (wife?) and wanted to be motivated to get in the best shape of his life and focus on something like this. To do so, he sent out a tweet seeing if any poker players would be interested in a 6-digit fight. JC has always trained a bit of BJJ and saw the tweet and they began negotiating - everything else is history.

JC has been through camps before to fight Robl (lol) and others but nothing to this level it seems. He's been training with a top camp for this fight and is taking it very seriously - you can tell from his Instagram videos he'll be ready to go... And I assume OB will be as well.

But don't ever bet against someone from the Rio Grande Valley...

I think JC has to make 165 and OB has to make 187.5 (no idea how they came to these figures)

This makes me a bit happier to be on the livb side, Kampmann has legit coaching experience. Comes down to size/strength vs better technique I guess but 20lbs is a lot in MMA if neither guy has a huge skill edge, depends how good livb has gotten in 6 mths compared to Alvardo I guess
