No, it's not really "effectively" identical either, because if it were "shuffled", that would mean that at some point the cards were in some order, which would mean they could be detected (at least between shuffles).

If they're chosen from a random set of x remaining unused cards in the deck, then they are never in any order, which is much more secure.

So there is a difference, even "effectively" and not just "technically".

The desired effect is that players don't and can't know or predict what the next card is. Whether or not there is an ordered set with a card popped off the top* or an unordered set with a card drawn at random is merely a technical difference.

* IIRC someone once received complete "raw" hand histories from Party Poker which included everyone's hole cards and in fact listed a randomly ordered deck of cards. Lots of people were whining about the cards being dealt "wrong" as people were being dealt the 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th etc as opposed to the 1st/10th, 2nd/11th etc. Also that there were no burn cards between the players cards, flop, turn, or river. Of course as the cards received by the players and dealt on the board were random this again is just a technical difference. It's interesting that developers bothered to design is that way as it seems to provide no real benefit.

Hi Shyam,

As some one who plays on multiple devices, my phone, my home computers as well as my work pc. One thing I would like you to keep is the feature where if I accidentally leave myself logged in on one machine, I can still log in on the other machine. (On FTP the machine I left my self logged into would get a message advising that you are logging in from another computer and if this not authorised you can click NO other wise after 30 seconds it logs you off and lets you log in on the current machine.)

If possible could you add this feature to PokerStars? I have done this a number of times on Stars and it is annoying to not be able to logging for a day or even a weekend. I know I can email support and they will disconnect me from the other machine, but that takes some time.

come on...mid september opening? if they have the software and most of the staff, i would think they could just boot up the software and make updates as they go? They would want to start raking in the cash sooner then later i would think.

It doesn t work like that. The only thing you can count on is it will open before the 90 day deadline. They will not leave it untill the last moment. I would say mid oct opening at the earliest
