you'll get the idea:

Quote:
Victor Blom, 20, says: So I went 14000-14 million - in three weeks

BAHAMAS. Viktor "Isildur" Blom, 20.

The youth with a turnover of billions of poker has been the most read news on the whole aftonbladet.se then his real identity was revealed during the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) on the night of Sunday.

As the only media channel in the world has Sportbladet got an exclusive interview with the mysterious "Isildur1," where he talks about growing up in Dalsland, how he won 14 million in three weeks that 18-year-old and how it felt to lose nine million crowns in the all time greatest online poker hand.

- It was hard, because I saw the error and thought I had won. But it is, sometimes you win of course, "he says.

The first thing that strikes one with Victor Blom is that he seems like a very ordinary Swedish 20-year-old boy. After all the myths about the legendary, hyperaggressive poker legend expected, most people probably something completely different. And Viktor Blom himself says that he probably is quite common

"I started when I was 14"

- I grew up in Ed Dalsland, in a house with mom, dad and three siblings. My upbringing was probably pretty typical I think. When I went to school I kept mostly to sports, played soccer, tennis and all sorts of things. I always liked sports, but I was never somebody talent so to speak. I've only been at it for the fun of it.

How did you start playing poker?

- I started playing when I was 14, I think, with friends and brother. It was probably this television program, Pokermiljonen, which led us to start playing. We played mostly in the summers, evenings and nights, but it was only because it was so fun. We did not play even if money or so. Then started to play online eventually.

When did you discover that you were better than the other?

- It was always good, but it was not until I was 18 I think it was that I felt I could be really good.

Was it when you played you up from 14 000 SEK to 14 million in just three weeks?

- Yes, exactly. It was the rush. Then I started playing on the U.S. sites and then I was really surprised by how good the level was. And the choice was really amazing, which was great. I do not like to wait and I try never to be the ending play.
"Best of All"

- But I was not prepared, I did not know there were players who were even better. Especially in Omaha, haha (Viktor's weakest poker branch). There I made some mistakes and played too loud. But it was fun anyway. That's why I play.

Several of your opponents have called you crazy, a complete madman, because you are so aggressive and plays so disrespectful. But you seem not so crazy ...

- No, I do not think, haha. It's just my style of play.

You said you are the best no-limit hold'em player in the world. Is that why you do not get broken when you are in a worse time, because you know you can always win the money back?

- Yes, in Hold'em heads-up (one for one) I'm probably best of all, and that experience also, I have with me. Certainly it is hard to deal with heavier days, but it plays again the role in the long run. Money's just money, it is not everything in the world. I play because I think it's so damn fun, it's that simple. Especially when I get good games with lots of action, then it's really fun. It is so nice in Sweden too, the winter has yet nothing to do. In the summers, I play a lot less, some months I do not play at all. Then I want to be out in the sun and do other things.

How does it feel to lose a pot of several million, which when you play away nine million kronor against Patrik Antonius in a single hand?

- Thus, the hand was so sick because I was looking at the screen between the fingers when the cards arrived and for a while, I thought I had won. But then I realized that I had lost when it felt so good, it was tough. But it is, sometimes you win of course, too.

Were you still at home when you started earning your millions?

- No, I left home when I was 15 and started high school, to Uddevalla. It is a nice place and it happened a bit more there too. First I rented a bigger apartment, then I moved to a small studio with kitchen, because it was closer to school, I joined society on Agneberg School. I have always liked to stay up at night, then poker, then, so I overslept very often.

Did you clear the school anyway?

- Yes, but I will admit that the attendance was not as good as last year, when I had won the first million. It was probably quite right that I did, haha.

Did your family and friends about what you was doing?

- Well, some did. But then spreading it the way it was probably many who knew. But they did not know quite how much money was involved, that I had 14 million in the account.

In the past, "Isildur1" a mysterious player, best known in poker circles. Now Victor Blom a national concern and has been the most read news on the largest site, aftonbladet.se, for several days. Are you prepared for your life will change?

- I do not know, I do not think it will make it so much. That's poker is all about, and I do not think people care enough. Then I moved to London as well, so it will probably be quiet.

And so we need to know, why was it "Isildur1"? Are you a big fan of Lord of the Rings?

- No, I can not say. It was just something that came to mind only when I went to register my username. I wheat fan, I had maybe seen the film just then. But that does nothing special for me, haha.

should be something like
Quote:
According to Dagens Industri a commonly occurring claim on poker sites is that Viktor Blom's gaming has had a turnover of 30 billion crowns.
They say the tax on gambling wins outside the EU is 30%, yet claim he could owe one billion in tax. One of the comments says it's an urban legend (tall tale, woteva) that gross rather than net profit would be taxed since no one's ever been taxed that way. Another says the tax is clearly on the gross earnings.

The gross is around 4,5 billion USD, so worst case is that he owes $1,35 billion. The one billion crowns they mention would be $150 million.

5 mins with Google tells me the above is a possible interpretation of the law but not the way it's actually interpreted. The tax is on the gross amount and losses or other costs can't be subtracted, but the amount is set when you cash out rather than when you win a hand or a tourney.

This isn't accurate at all as they weren't tracking hs HU tables until recently so they missed all of his hands v Tony G and most of his hands against urnotindangr, who he beat for about 300k. He is probably pretty even but up in terms of buyins.
