Never seen a $200K straddle in HSP.

50k/100k/200k blind big bet games are a totally different league than anything most people have ever seen. These games make the Andy Beal heads up games look small.

FFS, you'd be putting a million in the pot preflop just to raise after 2 limpers. Any pf 3b is going to over a million.

As far as taking money out from an ATM, that may vary. I have a limit of about 3k usd a day, but other cards may have an unlimited amount.

Insurance guys always pay out. It's Macau...

thanks for correcting me. i just read about this, but sources seemed credible ... are you a Chinese citizen?

I don't claim to know a lot about China but observed from outside it appears to be pretty money-driven. Why wouldn't they open a state-owned or licensed casino if it could help them pay for their aging population?

One point of view would be that china would prefer their citizens reinvest their funds into infrastructure rather than casinos which also goes to explain their restrictions on expatriating funds out of the country and visa entry restrictions into Macau. The current system works well for now. They get indirect revenues from Macau without as much social risk and they get to use Macau as testing grounds for now.

No, I'm American.

What your thinking of may be the limit that a Chinese national can exchange per year which is only a total value of 50k USD.

There is no limit on how much rmb can be sent out and received to ones bank.

I care about the stakes playing in these games but I want to see the people/characters that are playing these crazy 48 hr sessions much more. I really want some footage of the tailing end of a long session, would be the sickest thing to watch.

It was probably linked at the time, but if you do a google search for monaco cash game ept 10, you can get a little taste of a cash game with a lot of the same guys, including Richard Yong I think - although it is only two hours and the blinds are only 1K/2K euros. Phil Ivey is like - Why are we playing so small? :-)

Why don't casinos themselves have their own junket operators?
Casinos don't offer lines of credit which is what the junkets offer. And the junkets will have gangsters coming to your door to threaten and kill you if you don't pay up when you lose

A vice half hr piece on macau in general (not just the poker) would be incredible.

Documentary about the big games and general development of the place would be great.
Other than that, there are just casinos which are filled with baccarat tables, expensive boutique shops, expensive hookers, some saunas with "line ups" and handful of nightclubs, that's it.
If you don't gamble, you get bored in less than a week.
If you gamble tho, it's awesome obv.

If you aren't bankrolled for the stakes is a fold here better?

The games last year there were crazy when I went but without knowing key people it is hard to get into the really good games imo. Was blatant political nonsense
