that lineup makes me not want to watch any episodes, but norm makes me want to check out at least one to hear what he does.

Gabe was brilliant with AJ, but by himself it just wasn't very good. So this is probably the best move. If you can't have both, than neither.

I love Norm. But I dont think poker pbp is going to be his strong suit. Hope he isnt terrible.

You've got to be friggin' kidding me...HSP without Gabe...RIP. Norm is funny, but he's no where nearly as expert at poker as Gabe. And, he doesn't have the inside stories on many of the players as Gabe did. If you think there was a uproar when AJ Benza was replaced, fasten your seatbelts because this is gonna get UGLY. 3D TV has largely been a bust... but of all the things that you might want to see in 3D, poker isn't one of them, imho.

re: the remarks that Norm doesn't know poker as well as Gabe. Not correct. I think Gabe's a better player and has had a long personal friendship with Doyle which gave his commentary a lot of depth, but Norm is a brilliant guy and been playing seriously for decades.

And the show really depends on how the poker went, could be the best season ever. Not thrilled with Kara still being there. Interested in the other celeb names in the op - maybe Norm will have company in the booth -

My first reaction after looking at the lineup and replacement of Gabe was "Well, this'll be HSPs final season so, pity it ended so badly" but this kind of thing is very pro-average tv viewer so could actually be good for the ratings. Without the FTP guys its going to be dull though and some of the personalities they have lined up aren't going to go down well.

This is so great lineup! This lineup is going to produce some sick preflop action, like AA vs KK and AK vs KK , QQ vs KK

while hes very funny, this will be a tough 1st gig for him in terms of commentating. hsp is a show with a long tradition, and is known for having some of the highest level thinking players (tho this new ps-only lineup highly detracts from that).
i think he may have been better off starting with something like late night poker, or maybe the doubles poker show also on gsn.
while he will add considerable entertainment value, i think he needs a color commentator like haxton to provide a smooth transition to the kind of analysis we're used to outta hsp.

To add.... his fake yawns and overall social awkwardness. I find him annoying to watch and listen to.

its not just the personalities of the line up though its their playing styles aswell. Massive let down
