So why is NatGeo making fake tv shows now? I thought they were better than that.

Half way through it and like it. If it is fake I would like it to be a series.

One of the most comical things I've ever witnessed in my entire life. Being from Staten Island, I'll try and contribute what I know about this.

I've played in real life, albeit not at this game, with two of these people, Breezy and Joe "Rocks". Breezy is actually an excellent LAG player who i've spent a decent deal of time playing with at other SI clubs, 2/5 NL. Joe "Rocks" used to run an excellent timed 1/2 NL game in downtown Brooklyn.

Most of the streets they show Mike Tats driving around while "scouting locations" are the same spots, repeatedly, within 5 minutes of going over the bridge into Brooklyn on the BQE. They've shown him on 65th Street multiple times already.

About this show or about the concept in general? Plenty of other guys on this site play the underground clubs, I honestly used to go very frequently but have sworn off any illegal, raked games due to myriad issues such as the ones seen in this show.

About the scene in general. I actually like the show but, then I am desperate for any poker shows. Thing I like is that if you watch this just as a fiction show this would be a great pilot for a show.

I enjoyed the show. It reminded me that I would like a series like this or Rounders. Just have a rotating poker game in NYC get a bunch of good character actors and give them a basic script and films there lives.

Not too crazy. I've had a guy pay me by check and a mutual friend vouch.

E: actually I think he signed his pay check over to me. Kinda sad now that i think about it.

When I was in the scene, Tatts always talked about how great it would be to get cameras in the game. If the show was more genuine it could be half decent, but as is no way it survives past a couple episodes.

Im curious who 2Outsnoprob is, since other than Breez and another 2p2er I know irl, I did not play anybody else who was good. The games are tough to beat for a significant sample because of mainly the insane raking, dealer stealing and all the hazards/headaches that come with being in this scene.

You know the guy who ran it, was it real?

have played with a few of these guys several times at a club on staten island.

"mikey tats" is the biggest nit in the game yet he loves to call everyone else in the game a stone, and bitch about every hand he loses.

breezy is not a complete drooler, but he's a aggro spazzmonkey and i find his bluffs to be obvious a lot of the time. not surprised to see him being portrayed as the shark.

"joey mush" is definitely one of the worst players in the game, which is saying alot. pretty fitting he's portrayed as the fish.

No way. I stopped playing the clubs about 18 months ago. Even if I was still playing, I would never put myself on camera for this..

Its obvious everything in the show is scripted. Everybody shown is part of the SI poker crowd.

Its so funny how different this SI poker scene is from NYC poker games. 60 dollar fold out table with kitchen chair. so funny.

funny how they made sure to point out Mikey makes all his $$ from tips, but he has no problem extorting joey mush to recruit players from other games

LOL, sorry I turned it off before this gem.

(I really laughed at the opening "Breezy" bit about asking the score of the Knicks game, started surfing channels about 1/2 way thru. .... The show needs sub-titles at time.)
