Action will spice up again, that ****y site, ptr will become useless and all the pussies who bought hand histories to datamine their opponents will be left with nothing and lots of good stuff will come with it.Anyways, according to the major pokersite's policies its illegal what they're doing so why not fckem?
I realize it will cost some money, but whatever its not they're short of cash or anything.

Why would it cost them money if it "will spice up the action again"?

Giving the opportunity to change SNs once or every now and then (maybe once a year) would be OK, but system like Party/Cake would suck, because it would make it almost impossible to catch cheaters (either colluders or superusers) making cheating much more tempting.

Once a year name changes would be awesome.

Yea, I sit down fair 4 some fair and square poker, unbeknownst to me some data mining geek knows what I ate for breakfast, lunch, dinner and what I fold to for the last 5 years.

Either ban all HUD's/databases etc or include it with the effin poker sites software.

These people against SN changes are these dataminers/HUDers/cheaters. Yea I said it, cheaters!

i and many thousands of similar players could travel to a casino and play live cash or mtt and be totally unknown to the other players ie..style of play,results etc..yet when playing online we lose all that anonymity and must sit down with the same username and thus have all details of our play and results instantly checkable...anonymous tables are surely the future against these strange rules.

As for heads up, would a rule that said you could only have x amount of empty tables you sit at per table you are actually playing at help out the situation? I.e. if you 2-table another reg you both get to have a decent amount of empty tables to wait for fish on, but if you don't play anyone you only get to wait at a much lower amount of tables.

I also support fairly frequent name changes.

And as far as fish are concerned I think they would quite like being able to change their names. I imagine some fish who quit because he kept losing his deposits getting an e-mail from pokerstars that says he can get some small deposit bonus and a name change that month, and him thinking that this is a clean start and he would win this time etc. etc.. Like when I filter HEM for "this month" after every losing month to feel better about myself.

dude, i dont get the hate on these HUD's/databases, imo if you dont have it its because you cant afford it, not because you "dont want it" or its "unethical", lol, why dont you just adjust to the game and get some type of HUD or go play live

I think HUD's are fine as long as you are playing with hands you have been a part of yourself in your database. If you buy hands I don't think that is very ethical at all.

PTR and HSDB need to disappear, using any kind of additional software should be banned and people should be allowed to change their usernames at will.

Would stop all this ma'ing and general cheating that goes on.

I am a HUD user, but have to agree that the games would get significantly better without them (or regular name changes). The days of rush before the HUD's caught up were awesome.

At Party you can change your username every month if you are their equivalent supernova player (palladium but it is much easier to reach than supernova.)

Still there is obsessive bumhunter, regs joining a table and sitting out trying to get position on a fish, so i dont think a screen name change will do anything to change the current state of the games. Anonymous hu tables is an alternative, but how long will it take for a reg to realise that he is playing another reg and leave?

i agree mostly, but i think it would be different for stars and full tilt since they have so much more traffic these days. plus noone can actually deny that it would be good for the games as a whole. i think name changing would be better than anonymous hu tables for the same reason as transa states and sites should let their players change their names every two months or so. plus it would **** ptr and hsdb in the ass which is always good

It needs to happen soon or the extreme transparency of winnings and losses is going to kill the games even more than it already has. Its no coincidence that action dried up signifianctly a few months after ptr was created
