I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet. Last night was the most entertaining four hours of HU poker I've ever watched.

I can't even really put it into words. The final hand (and the antics / game flow / dynamics leading up to it) was as epic as possible. I strongly suggest watching the HU in order in its entirety for perspective, but if you only have time for the final hand I've posted it here.

I'll add this as well, Malec had to take a bathroom break, so they took a break early in the previous level. Later on, there was 20 minutes left in the next level and he had to go again (he was drinking Jack & Cokes), so he requested to take the break early at the 10 minute mark of the existing level. This pending bathroom break played a role during the final hand.

He talks about the Jacks & Cokes in this Pokernews interview:

The Poker Channel on YT has about 70% of the final table content uploaded. I'm guessing they're working on getting the rest of it uploaded later today.

If I find an English version of the final hand (with James and Stapes of EPT Live doing the commentary), I'll have a mod edit it into the original post. I apologize for not realizing the original video wasn't an English version before making the thread.

another cool thing about last hand...

Uri's reaction when Malec said "I mean you could have 9 10"

Sounded like Uri was talking himself into a fold until Malec said that.

PTLou is right. The link he provides is the entire final table (11+ hours), just click as far forward in the action as you wish (if you have the time, watching the HU as it happened makes the final hand much more enjoyable). The entire HU action and antics and craziness is worth the watch.

This is spot on. Uri says I think you have a flush .. is working his way through the hand and a fold .. and then Malec mentions that he could have T9 and it oddly seems Malec might be concerned about this after he mentions it.

+1

Def a lil weird but i dont think out of line or disrespectful. Tbh i think poker needs more hands like this and its one of the many reasons it got so popular back in the day. With all the old skool guys who were characters at the table. Either way awesome last hand.

Funny he evoked Scotty Nguyen because in same 1998 heads up match a bathroom break played a role late. Also notice what Scotty says at end of the hand. Sets up his later (now) epic line and induces the call then.

IKR!

What is really puzzling to me is how this thread contrasts the Czech version of EPT stream where @ludekstanek (commentator):

- openly hated on polish player and said he will keep hating and more when confronted about it on twitter.
- never called him by his name, always referred to him as "polak" (the pole) in demeaning way.
- repeatedly shouted "boooooring" during the HU after like 10-15s silence (WTF?!?!)
- was making what I call "old man sounds" to let everyone know how ****ing bored he is. Breaths out heavily into the mic as if he was 8 years old and mom told him to go out with the trash.
- was openly annoyed when Malec won a pot and evened the stacks, because it meant he will have to stay there and do the job he does not enjoy saying ironically "great! now he is going to win it all".
and more and more....

Just overall embarrassing, cringe worthy and super frustrating! I wanted to watch it because of Tomas Cibak's (poker player commentator) analysis of the hands. He is a great player and great to listen to. He knows how to talk about the hands in interesting way, but I just could not watch it and had to switch to Stapes and James. Stapes can be goofy, but at least he is funny and a ****ing professional!

How does PS employ such a baboon is beyond me. EPT is a great brand and the whole tour is one of best the poker world has to offer, but here we have a guy who does not give a ****, does not enjoy it, does not know anything about the game (his own words), is not even slightly funny. His only qualification might be the fact that he has friends in poker community, other than that, I have no clue.

PS, please get your **** together and employ someone who will represent your brand with skill, enthusiasm and knowledge. I do realize CZE is a small market, but that does not mean you should not care. Having this guy out there is negligent towards the brand.

wow.

that is just horrid on every level possible.

I'll take what you said as 100% true as I cant imagine why you'd make such a claim if not factual.

If Mr. Hartigan (@J_Hartigan on twitter) doesnt read this thread, I'm sure someone connected to EPT Live will get your info to him.

this @ludakstanek dude needs to be gone, like immediately gone.

100% truth. that 'boooring' part was the worst and it happened at least 3 times during HU and who knows how many times before that. the guy is simply immature and stupid. i was really offended by how he talked about Malec too, because there really was no reason to openly hate him. I guess it comes down to overall attitude of many czechs towards polish. they have tendency to look down on them for some odd reason i never understood. i guess he is one of those idiots. he also parodied his laughing and talking quite often. to be honest, it made me ****ing angry. it was some 3rd grade basic school bs

His commentary may be out of line, but for you to say 'I was really offended' just makes you sound like you should never ever have contact with anyone ever again, for you own good.

lol what? so you think if PS commentator mocks one of the players because of their nationality, it is perfectly ok and would be foolish to get offended? half of my family is polish and it was ****ing offensive to me. this was a stream host professional who is there to service the audience, not to mock players and ruin the stream for them. wtf is wrong with you man? I read your comment as anti pc and in that way I can kind of understand it, because i hate pc too. This is not the case to apply it though and you need to think first before you post. We are talking about professional PS host here, not some argument with anon drunk in a pub.

Peteblow, you are so far out of line here, that I don't even know where to start.

If this @ludakstanek character made ethnic slurs as host of the Czech EPT live steam then EPT needs to end their relationship with him, and apologize to any offended customers, period.

No place for that douchebaggery on EPT Live or anywhere else for that matter.

Just to be fair to him, no specific ethnic slurs, simply hating on him because he is polish.

I've seen some of this in my time here in CZE. It's not rampant, but it exists. I was told it was more with the older generations. My Czech friend married a Pole (they are late 30s) and his dad to this day has never spoken to his wife (refuses to).

Is this shady commentator an old guy? Hopefully Amaya reviews the video and fires him for his unprofessionalism and turning viewers off to Stars and poker.

Your example seems extreme. I would say it is not aggressive, just subtle arrogance towards them and I have experienced this with 30ish +, dont know about younger.
