There needs to be a lot of competition or there will not be very good promotions for the players. I mean hopefully it will be better than what there is for live promotions. The north eastpromotions are pretty terrible for poker. Vegas is way better than what is offered at AC and other casinos in the area. I wonder if rakeback will be offered or VIP program of some sort?

Oh, didn't realize casinos weren't already heavily taxed by the government.

Excessive rake seems like it's the one thing that could really kill interstate poker for the pros, but hopefully there will be enough competition and low enough taxes that rake stays at around the current industry standard.

if they want to make serious money, they have to ensure there is an incentive for volume (the game is beatable enough that people will play a lot). I'm not overly worried about rake. There will be at least one site that understands how online poker works.

I'm so sick of people bringing up Taxes. The only way that taxes are going to affect you as a player is if you weren't claiming your winnings before. If that is the case then you were breaking the lax before and no one should feel sorry for you.

I think the one thing people should recognize is that once sites get up and running on a state basis in Nevada, that will make the federal gov't more proactive to act. Interestingly enough, I don't think it will be MGM or Caesars who are first, it will probably be Southpoint Casino. The will be like pokerroom.com, relevant for a bit, until fed regulation, and then they will fade away....

I was talking to a poker room manager at Caesars and he said they have a poker site and logistics ready to go, it is turn key basically and ready to go. He said it will be in an independent division in Caesars Ent. from the local poker rooms. He said the site supposedly will be called WSOPPOKER.COM. Or something along those lines.

There could be a few casinos that get licenses and they decide to charge the same rake as in the casino or charge even more. Or allow people to only play one table at a time. There are many ways the future legal online poker rooms could completely suck.

you do realize that they have a financial reason to not make it suck and since they want to make boat loads of money they would probably base their operations after the already successful business model that has made other companies boat loads of money.
