This is correct. Even if the passenger that lost the money was stone drunk and didn't remember the cab company the odds of figuring out who the driver was are at 99%. Cabbies have to keep trip sheets. Casinos have cameras even in valet areas etc. Insides of cabs have cameras in them etc. There's just almost no way to get away with it.

$300k is life changing money for 99% of the population. There seems to be an inordinate amount of people on this site that are opposed to wire transfers, checking accounts and other standard methods of capital transfer.

Walking around with that much cash is just an disaster waiting to happen.

If you are too drunk/drugged/stupid to hang on to it, then maybe you deserve to lose it.

I appreciate his honesty, but how many of those same people would go off and 'forget' $300k laying in the seat of a cab? I would have that bag in a mortal headlock that could only be undone by death itself.

I believe Barry Greenstein talked about this. I'm not sure if he got detained or not.

Once his identity was verified, YCS turned the cash over to the player, who asked to see Gamboa to shake his hand. He told Gamboa he planned to reward him and got his contact information.

He's a stiff 100%. Which coincides with so many poker players with a BR that big or bigger.

$10K, I mean it's Christmas).

Cabbie would have never been able to keep the money, but at least he didn't even try, as many others would have stupidly tried. So pretty honest gesture that shouldn't go unnoticed.

So please Mr. or Mrs forgetful poker player loosing 300K....
