I don't know how far this news spread internationally, but last Thursday an improvised bomb was found on the London tube. A 19 year old suspect was arrested on Friday and remains in police custody.

Newspaper reports are now naming him as Damon Smith.

I have played with this guy a lot at my local casino in Devon.. He used to turn up with his mum and usually wearing full tilt hat and shirt and had a really high squeeky camp voice.
He was awful at poker and posted a few poker videos of himself playing online which are hilarious if anyone can find them.

Presumably this was in Torquay? Guess that has a relatively small live poker community so if you played there regularly you'd know him. Not that he sounds hard to miss or forget!

The papers make his mother out to be like some overbearing type who wont let him pee without her watching to make sures he's OK and doesn't hurt himself. Kids with parent like that can turn out cray cray...think Carrie for example, or that British guy who chopped up his parents then went on holiday with his girlfriend, his mum used to wash him in the bathtub when he was like 18 or something.

But then again I guess if my son sounded like that I'd worry about him on a daily basis for a myriad of reasons too...

Annnnnnnnnnd this is why I believe governments don't want global internet poker sites. This is the exact reason why. You can't monitor all the players and make sure they're not terrorist. The government/corporations realized there are probably people out there winning money playing online poker that are using it to put towards terrorism.

Poker is too democratic. In other sports when players present anti corporate/government/establishment views they are simply penalized, or removed from the team/league. That situation doesn't exist in poker. Dan Coleman can show up to a final table with a "Free Palestine" shirt on and there is no team owner/league/corporations in control of poker to stop him. Think about how every other sport on ESPN is played by players who have every word out of their mouth controlled. Now, think about how ISIS could put runners in the WSOP, or the Sunday Million.

The government realized this fact and prevented global poker sites from operating.

I'm sure the bullying he got in school is going to be nothing like the bullying he's about to get for the foreseeable.
