What are your stats? Height, weight etc

What sports have you pursued before MMA?

Did you have any prior fight or martial arts experience before starting?

How many hours a week do you spend training in your day to day life? Before a fight?

I'm pretty sure I walked past you on Robson Street a few days ago around Granville but it was one of those moments where I didn't fully realize it until like a minute later.

I have nothing else to add except that this is a cool thread and good luck in your fight.

as a long time limit player who used to sweat your games and try to emulate some of your playing style, i owe quite a bit to you on my succession up the ranks in the limit world, best of luck with the fight

anyway: gL for the fight!

what is your general strategy for a fight: still 'min-betting' (kill him slowly), or do you try to stack him (K.O.) w/ a serious punch?
I think you should try to ko punch him so u can sell fangear: Chan - from Min-Betting to Max-Punching .. just sayin'

but to add a more serious Q: how's your plan for the future ... are you trying to become a pro, or is it more a personal challenge ... and back to the finances. have you grinded enough, or are you still playing from time to time?

gl bud you've always seemed like a chill dude from the interviews i've seen.

2 questions:

1) can you tell pretty easily out and about if someone can fight? (not like if they've trained etc but how'd they handle themselves in a street fight) is it similar to a gaydar type thing (yes i know you have bad gaydar but you get my point)

2) what tips would you give someone with zero fighting experience as the best way to defend/handle themselves in a random street fight?

cheers.

Kill him.

I don't know you personally but I have the highest respect for MMA fighters, especially poker playing ones.

I can look at someone in the eye and just tell if they are a fighter. For 90% of people you should know after 5 secs of looking at someone and sizing them up --- if they can fight.

However, for that rare 5% it has made me live in pure fear.

gl terrance, keep your brain away from the walls of your skull plz.

@31, how do you view what rogan has said RE his kickboxing career and head trauma? Do you see yourself going to straight bjj/wrestling tourns in the future and eliminating the impact arts for self preservation

i only say this because i think we can agree that it's a longshot you get to a big organization and make a living out of fighting- for that reason maybe risking head injury may be a poor gamble.

$1500 on travel
$500 on DVDs
$2000 on equipment (includes random **** like medical tape for your fingers)
$2000 on physiotherapy, medical, massages etc

So that's like 25kish? I tried to err on the side of higher rather than lower these numbers and yet I figure I'm way undershooting it. There's so much I'm probably forgetting, like I hurt my knee a couple years ago, not bad enough for surgery but I still had to have an MRI which I paid like $800 out of pocket for. I'd guess the real number is higher. And as you said there is all the costs of food and supplement and eating the grass-fed pastured organic beef instead of the ground chuck in the bargain bin. (btw I am an anomaly on that; most fighters eat like **** when they aren't cutting weight, even high level pros)

These are obviously way higher than a typical guy, obviously for a lot of my martial arts career I was playing pretty big and doing well. Also like I travel a lot so I bounce around a few different gyms; if I stayed in one place I could get a deal on like a 3-year package.

So for a second opinion, I asked my cousin, who is the perfect person to ask because he's been training about as long as me and is an accountant. He put it at about 20k.
Is this per year? How long does 20-25K last?

GL Terrence, I remember watching the stream of ur 1st fight after stumbling upon the thread here. Bit disappointed to know there's gonna be no free stream but meh

Who do you consider the GOAT? Fedor or Anderson?

Do you think Bones is over rated or will be exposed soon? If so, by whom? Are u a hater?

Which fight wud u prefer? Silva vs GSP or Silva vs Bones? How do u think he wud do in each?

Do u think Cain is gonna beat JDS?

Given that bars are confined spaces with lots of chaos, he would be a favourite to win the first 10-20 seconds of the fight. But if he doesn't seriously incapacitate me in that time, after that 20 seconds or so he will lose very very badly. If it's a fair fight (i.e. no suckerpunches, no buddies, no weapons) I would make myself like 90-95%.

Same answer if you can't take him to the ground?

I know this is his thread, but there's really only one answer to this.

Kick them in the balls and run away. There's no pride in a street fight, just save yourself from harm. You don't know what some random guy is gonna do and it's not worth any risk being macho and fighting them "like a man"

Just find any way you can to incapacitate them without going overboard and doing anything that's gonna give you legal trouble
