Is it best for him (JM) just to pay him back?

Why should he pay him back if he played him straight up?

Just curious as to how the MA issue is handled by HS players? Is it a simple "well damn, if I had known it was Jungleman I would have never sat him"? Or is it well you played someone, you had no clue what the results would be, you lost, and you end up freerolling the play because it ends up being an MA incident and you deserve to be paid back?

If the answer is an instant "JM should pay back" than I will probably post about 10-50 other incidents where this has happened (that I have read between High stakes accts) and there was no payback or there was only a small % agreed upon to pay back.

I'm really surprised at how many people think JM shouldn't refund this guy. Even though it's clear he tried to cheat in order to gain an unfair advantage over an opponent who never would have played him had he known his real identity.

From what I'm reading/seeing, JM has some very serious inability to comprehend personal ethics.

Dan, if you don't realize how awful this makes you look then you really really really need to get new advisers/friends around you. This should probably include people who are successful outside of poker to give you a different perspective instead of someone accustomed to the gray areas of "ethics" in the poker world.

I can understand how in your mind you would justify doing these things because A. you can't play on FT because of BF and you feel robbed B. you're so baller you can't get the action you want. 99.99% of the world is not going to be sympathetic when you can basically play straight-up and openly and print money.

FWIW I think Tyler probably isn't owed anything based on the fact that you never really know who you're playing and Girah was supposed to be some superstar and it wasn't a random fish account or the SamChauhan account. But you should probably pay him back something reasonable to help stem the damage to your rapidly diminishing reputation.

I know a lot of pro's have done this--it's scummy. We know the world of high stakes poker is scummy but you have to draw the line somewhere, not just condone it because tons of folks got away with murder.
