I'm in process of looking for a affordable furnished rental starting anytime this month. Craigslist hasn't turned up much so far and any leads would be appreciated.

Why is everyone talking about live poker? Nobody is moving to Canada for live games.
They are moving for online play, and Vancouver because it doesn't get snow for 6 months of each year.

Plus the dollar sits pretty much equal and the flight is a stone throw to CA or NV

Lots of pros were in town for past tournys. Some of the names included Brad “Yukon” Booth, Gavin Smith, Lacey Jones, Liz Lieu, Mark Napier, Gabe Kaplan, Dennis Philips, Isabelle Mercier, Maria Ho, Tiffany Michelle, David Williams, and Steve Sung.

You should describe what you are looking for and price range (condo, house, basement suite, townhouse, etc). There's lots of Vancouverites on the forum so we can give advice and maybe give you some leads. Maybe start a thread in another section of the forum.

That's your problem right there Vancouver and affordable don't go together. The city has the highest real estate prices in Canada. Also this is a city where the markets in real estate tend to boom or bust and when they bust they are still the highest in Canada. I guess affordable is relative, but affordable in Vancouver is high for 90 percent of Canada.

Not to mention the lowest or second lowest minimum wage in Canada.

I believe these pics are from 2008, the year Pokerstars supported the tournament and everyone showed up (and the year I cashed - minor brag). Attendance dropped after 2008 when PS gave up on us but this year should be good with all our new friends joining us.
