I am from the US (Vermont), but am a dual Canadian citizen (brag). I do miss some VT specific things, but the benefits outweigh the losses 10-1.
I have lived in the US, UK, Canada and parts of Europe and for me Canada is the winner outright.
Health care is top notch (I would dare anyone with real life experience to deny this), people are beyond friendly and the culture of Vancouver can't be beat.
I have personally never had any problem with the Canadian health care system compared to the 6K a year i dropped on US health insurance.
It is considerably more expensive than living in parts of the US, but I really think it is worthwhile.
Despite what happens in the future I can't see going back to the US. Life is simply better in Canada imo. I have transitioned from full time play to using my poker-paid-for education to actually do something with my time during daylight hours and Vancouver (BC in general) is great for "feel good" work. I develop on-farm energy resources, don't have to dress up for anyone, get to meet and work with great farmers/real world people and still get to play as much poker as I can fit in. I can't imagine living this life across the border with the current state of the economy.
Edit: NO SARAH PALIN HERE!
