Only stars was crazy as hell over multi accounters. Although i never was trying to " dodge" anyone , I did self ban and later regret it and have my rooommate who didnt play make an account and i played on it.......I know everyone else has too and i wouldlove to hear about the major score people shipped while MA'ing.....

FWIW: I opened a PS acct' in my wifes name for the free HEM. I never multi acct'd though I just played on her acct' because mine was in the negatives. Bounced checks....lol

I'm sure plenty of people multi-acct and collude online but no one that still wants to play online if it become easier will admit to it.

Once you stop thinking in terms of violating stars TOS and realize that whatever awesome site that breaks thru legislation isnotinterested in what you did at pokerstars or ftp. as long as you do what they ask you to do as far as TOS then there wont be a problem. dont act like you dont know someone who has done it.......

A friend of mine who had been "lifetime" banned from stars who played the highest LHE and shipped the sunday million Is now looking forward to the new poker room. He as I have , We have learned from our mistakes. stars was training wheels so to speak, and now as mature veterans of the online world can focus on being truthful and transparent to our virtual identities.
But as for right now, Some of us can say, yes we werent completely honest about our identity but our skills as players won us this money and prestige.

OK! 75% if it makes u feel better . I'm just going off the people i know personaly that have used a friends account or have 2 of theyre own. In every instance that i know they MA'ED they werent trying to cheat. It was just a situation and even though it was " bad" , they still had to play the cards and WIN!

The circumstance being that they felt like playing on multiple accounts because they thought doing so would be profitable, and didn't care that it was against the rules because they expected to get away with it.

If you're talking about low-mid stakes players opening a new account to get rakeback, then I don't have a problem with it.

If you're talking about multiaccounting in tournies then we have problems.

Even though the way op is going about it is wrong, the spirit of this post is something that needs to get across to people. I myself recently considered writing a detailed post similar to this yesterday with an attempt at non-bias pros and cons on multiple things I feel need to be addressed.

Its possible we start off with a "clean slate" when it comes to how online poker operates. Sure they will emulate proven models to an extent, but if it becomes legalized in the us we will have atleast some voice if we begin to focus our efforts. I plan on making that post, likely in a week or two when things settle down. Here are some of the issues I can think of the top of my head that have a ton of grey area:

Multiaccounting
Huds
Datamining
Heads up tables
Waiting lists/changing seats
Table abusers (see the state of stars hsnl was in, I believe this is same as the above subsection but is so important it warrants its own discussion)

I'm quite passionate about these subjects and look to hopefully guide people who will listen to what I feel is the "right" way. This post will obviously be slanted, if someone wants to work together we can have two essay type things with the pros/cons. This interests me especially if we are polarized on many issues. Ill be busy for quite some time, but anyone who thinks this is a cool idea let me know, also everyone feel free to add whatever subjects of debate you'd like to see.

We may be on the brink of getting legal us online poker, let's try everything we can to get it right this time.
