You can get that deal on ipoker as has been pointed out before. It was an excellent call by the DoJ. I'd gladly take even a 5% chance of full repayment over the Tapie deal.

Some of what she said may be correct. There's also the chance that her "source" may be spreading false information. Jen Newell surely felt confident that there would be an announcement today. For whatever reason that didn't happen.

I was told this afternoon to expect an announcement, and as we all know, that didn't happen. Is it because of further snags from the DOJ or other groups? Who knows for sure. Maybe there will be an announcement tomorrow and we'll all get excited once again.

i dont know the details of GBT repayment plan but the way its been talked about on here was that u would be given a bonus in the amount of your bankroll... now unless that **** had some ridiculous clearance rate its pretty useless and u would in fact be better off getting some % of the $ value instead

You can go through almost all of her work on this saga and except for DF, she has been the most accurate.

Compare to Jen Newell who hasn't provided any new info (has she?) and has provided incorrect info 2x and it's hard for me to understand questioning wendeen, especially when Wendeen made no 100% certain proclamations in her initial post.

If you told me the over/under on Kathy Liebert's twitter being quoted was 37,100 posts I would've definitely taken the over. Oh well.

So let's see if I have this straight:

The parties have signed, the judge hasn't. The deal was completed on Thursday according to Wendeen,

"Ergo, early in the morning of Friday July 27, after learning the deal between the parties had been completed a day earlier, I wrote my news report,"

The judge has had two full business days (and the weekend) to sign and has not yet. Neither party to the deal (Stars and DOJ), both of whom know they've signed, has said a word. I wonder why they are choosing to keep quiet. Don't they have every incentive to announce the deal?

Could it be because a judge (or Preet) told them to STFU?

Yet without knowing why the judge hasn't signed, Wendeen opts to position the judge as a potential bad guy in all this:

"In a case of this magnitude, filled with esteemed lawyers at center stage in the negotiations, it would be almost unfathomable for a judge to torpedo a deal signed by the parties - especially one that would assure prompt repayment of player funds."

I really hope this isn't Judge Kaplan. This is exactly the kind of stuff that pisses judges off. Everyone here who views Isai as a hero must have forgotten that the DOJ might not see it that way. Try to remember:

April 15, 2011, he was their clear enemy, an indicted fugitive. A year later, because the other guys proved to be more criminal, the DOJ has to negotiate with him. I doubt that was easy for them to swallow. To people who aren't owed money by FTP, this looks a lot like moral hazard.

Think about how the public felt about the government bailing out the banks. Maybe, just maybe, someone wanted to spend the weekend drafting a carefully written press release.

Judge Kaplan didn't want to accept the Campos plea. You think he'd be thrilled to be signing this? If he was already planning on signing it while holding his nose, having it leak is infuriating. And if he's already fed up with being made a party to this, he might be looking for any excuse to say, "F- you. I'm not signing."

I really hope it's not Judge Kaplan. And I really wish Wendeen and her imprudent source would quit talking, especially since Stars and the DOJ presumably have good reason (and the good sense) not to.
