I use to read a lot about poker and movies, and of course frequent movies and poker forums. It is interesting for me that on the movie forums there are a lot of openly gay posters and of course in the movie industry there are a lot of openly gay people.
But curiously it seems that the poker environment it's pretty different, I'm yet to read about an openly gay famous poker player, hell even an openly gay famous 2+2er.
Is the poker community really not up with the times? Is it tabú to be a gay professional poker player?
Have you any example of an openly gay successful poker player? Any couple of PPP you can think of?
Or maybe there is something about poker that does not attract gay people. Probably the competitive aspect of the game.
I don't think the competition aspect would drive any gay person away from poker. It would drive non-competitive people away. I don't know that being gay makes a person any less competitive. I'm sure there are gay professional poker players just like there are gay professional athletes.
