Being a reputable person she realizes then that this is someone wealthy and probably is someone who really doesn't want to lose her wallet. She looks at the ID and yup, it's Jennifer Tilly. My friend recognized her as an actress and not a poker player.
My friend then goes back to the Rio to turn the wallet in but the jagoffs just tell her to throw it in the lost and found, my friend refused to do so. Instead she leaves her cell number with the Rio staff in case Jennifer comes around to ask about it. Sure enough Phil Laak calls and asks if anything is reported, so they provide my Phil with my friends cell phone number.
My friend of a friend, her brother and her mom (who she went to Vegas with) were in some random show when she got a text from Jennifer. She gets hilariously excited and apparently started jumping up and down in the middle of the show. So they get directions to get to Phil and Jennifer's condo and head over there.
They (just the sister and brother, the mom stayed behind I guess) get to the condo and they have to go through 3 different security checkpoints (balla). They walk in and Phil is laying on the couch with two different girls massaging one foot each (balla-er). They then return the wallet to Jennifer and she gives them 500 dollars. I know she is rich and all but I thought that was a fair reward. They then let them chill with them, and apparently Phil is an amazing Backgammon player and was just destroying the brother. They then go out to eat and do some other various activities. They said Phil is an insane driver.
They both go up a notch in my book. It would have been ok just to give the cash reward and say bye. But they actually provided these people with an experience they won't soon forget. For this I hope Jennifer and Phil get to HU in the ME.
If by "mildly interesting" you mean "the feel good story of WSOP 2008" then I agree.
Well told, Lagtastic (I assume the story is true and not an absurd "level").
