It's a blog, a quick and dirty diary, not a dissertation. Dude said right up front that he doesn't like writing, so you expect him to spend a bunch of time on it?

Idk about him being an english major, but iirc he only went to college a few semesters, less than a year. That's not enough time to major in anything, only to get your feet wet with a few core curriculum classes.

Seriously, how smart do expect a guy that chose "durrr" as a s/n to come off?

And lol at "400 letters per minute". At that speed, he wouln't be able to write anything legible. 60-70 words per minute is blazing fast, transcriptionist speed.

1) I never said it excuses him from writing like a 13 year old girl talking to her girlfriends on facebook--not that I even believe that it needs to be excused: if he's got a reason to write like a 13 year old girl, I don't really care and I can't think of a good reason why anyone else would, either-- I said that the fact that he is writing like a 13 year old girl on 2p2 and posting like an English major on his blog isn't proof that whoever posted on Tom Dwan's blog isn't actually Tom Dwan.
2) The purpose of language is for people to be able to communicate ideas as clearly as possible and as efficiently as possible. If the underlying message of "yeah i think so" and "yh i thnk so" is the same, but one is more efficient in some way ("yh i thnk so" takes less time to type), what's wrong with using it? You're just arbitrarily assigning some sacred status to the English language because you were socially conditioned to write properly throughout your life.


Uh, who is nuthugging? I just came here to say that people who think the blog post is fake because it is properly punctuated and capitalized are dumb. Truth be told I think his blog is somewhat gay and that I should have spent 5 minutes of my life elsewhere.
