Don Ohonjo is a scammer/thief - Poker News

so don ohonjo (aka legendoflink on 2+2), a former friend of mine has owed me over $13,000 for almost two years now and has no intentions of paying me back. (more about that story in this thread i created about the situation.) it was also discovered that he was posting under the Pegusus account which is a known scammer who owes money to other 2+2 members by refusing to pay debts to people in the HSNL sports discussion thread.

now there is a website outlining the situation so hopefully it will prevent anyone else from being scammed or stolen from by don

It is very likely that this scammer is currently active on 2+2. Here are a list of some of his accounts in case anyone searches 2+2 or Google:

(last posted on 1/20/09, the day his Pegusus account was outted as a scammer)

I thought I read two threads like this before. One guy calls another a cheater yet they share accounts or one guy doesnt pay up and the other starts a website about it. Very nice to include the guys fathers name and former address as well.

why don't you hire a private detective for 500.00 -1K to find out his address in Vegas. Show up and beat the **** out of him or call the law. I'm sure hes broke and isn't paying you anyways.

back when we were on speaking terms he never indicated to me that he was in money troubles or would have difficulty paying me back and he's been playing poker for a living since he graduated college

Sounds like you have taken the wrong approach here tbh. It is unlikely someone who is your friend hangs out with you for a long time for the sole purpose of stealing $13k. It sounds like he's busto from what you describe.

If he is a sick gambler you might be out of luck, but maybe an offer to get him away from such gambling might be +EV.

$13k is a lot, but not end of world. Suggest you write off this as a bad debt and continue on with life...lots of people in same situation for much more these days.

I suggest you read the Justin Smith threads on NWP to see how a thread like this turns out. It will make you laugh at least.

LOL. you're like an abused wife that still protects the guy that beats the **** out of her. Why the hell do you care to "not mention" his new account. This may sound harsh, but this personality trait may be something that left you susceptible to lending and not getting paid back.

i agree that he never had the intentions of stealing the money from me before i gave it to him. i'm almost positive he had the money right after i gave it to him since we were living together at the time in vegas, he still had plenty of money online. i tried to handle it like a friend/in a reasonable way for over a year and a half until i decided enough was enough. he wouldn't respond to any attempts i made to contact him for months and then i just gave up on trying to settle the matter privately and then i posted on here

I'm not clear on how stating you know his new account without mentioning the actual account name protects the source of the information. Seems to me that communicating that you know his new account is the same as mentioning the account in regards to protecting the source. Not mentioning the account only protects the privacy of his new account.

Fair enough. Just to be clear though, you seem to be protecting the privacy of his new account so he can continue to interact with the community without the label of scammer? I understand you plan to police him to be sure he doesn't misbehave. I'm just not sure why you would want to even continue to interact on that level.
