Raleigh poker robbery/shooting/deathwish - Poker News

Last nite a game I have played at on occasion was held up by two masked men......check out how we are handling these situations now!!!!

more details: once first guy was shot and on the floor, the second guy was shot in the arm and then the shooter executed the guy who was shot first.......sad really, because this was only a 1/2 game.....it has always been a 1/2 game with a 50$ mtt every other week....obv an inside job considering these idiots arent known around the poker scene.....

Wow! According to the article, the shooter didn't have his own gun, he wrestled it from one of the robbers.

Don't mess with the poker monies. They tried to pull a Full Tilt and got what they deserved.

Someone who claims they knew the person who died tries to defend him:
I know and was friends with the guy that was shot and killed. Its really weird that it was this game.....it really wasnt that big and one of the "fringe" games of raleigh...newer game not as busy.. guy who ran it was the nicest host you could ever meet...so not worth dying for that chump change, but whats really bad is the guy who killed him was a new player and after he was down , shot him point blank multiple times...

If you conspire to rob people, and you get killed you had it coming. Good people die of cancer and other things all the time. You're out there trying to rob good honest people you deserve to die. The ripple effect to the rest of us in the poker community might be big too might cost us a lot of money.

I think I went to this game once a while ago. TBH im surprised this doesnt happen more often with the lowlifes that know about it and the few thousand in cash thats always there.

Going by what OP said, not the news article. If the guy on the floor was "executed" then IMHO that's flat out murder.

And anyone who is defending shooting(killing) somebody who is already down and (presumably) now unarmed IMHO is sick in the head.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with a situation where people where able to disarm and wound the robbers, that is fine. But executing people, whether in robberies, war or any other situation is murder plain and simple and deserves to be treated as such.

Look at the guy's criminal history. If you shoot him but don't kill him, he will be back to kill you as soon as he gets the chance.

I live and play around the area to, crazy stuff. Just goes to show what kind of trouble the Full Tilt execs are in when people getting shot over 1/2 game money.
