Are you writing under the name Puggy Neutron? That guy has a ton of poker books coming out for Kindle.

Regarding your last sentence, I am sure a lot of other "old folks" thought the same thing.

Re: Do Old Gamblers Die Broke?

Just thought of a movie line that sums up how well off I want to be when I die. As Carl Reiner says in Ocean's Twelve, "I want the last check I write to bounce."

Johnny -

As always your posts are meaningless, depressing and reflective of a life of a man who wasted his god given soul to a game that has not only passed him by but pretty obviously was never really grasped.

You continue to be a shining beacon of the importance of keeping poker as a hobby and nothing more

If you are stupid, you compound it by not being able to read very well. I love having guys like you stewing in your dumb juices and jealous, jealous, jealous. Ha Ha SiThomass.

Thanks.

It may be depressing, but much of poker and poker life outside of your TV is depressing. Many, many top players are not nearly as well off (financially or emotionally) as you might think.

Do Old Gamblers Die Broke?

Good OP.
Its a thin line between
being 'well-off' and broke. Mainly because of
the edge we once had, has suddenly disappeared.
As one person pointed out already.

Re: Do Old Gamblers Die Broke?

If a young guy berated an old man in public, we would all think worse of him for that. Yet many of us do the same online. If you don't value what JH has to offer the commuunity, please, respectfully hold your peace and go elsewhere.

Pretty sad that you would take your time to come in here and post a thread with such negativity - if he wants to write some stuff for people to read, wtf does it matter to you?

*sigh*

Re: Do Old Gamblers Die Broke?

ChaosReins...the mod's darling...tries to ruin any thread I start. He denies the rest of you the chance to read an open discussion.

He lies. I have never shot at anyone. He made this up. If you believe anything he says, I feel sorry for you.
