Daniels just laid 100-1 that he will make it to day 2 of the event he's playing.

Not sure how wacky the price is. He made it at 11pm in a tourny in which he's currently 8th. He has double+ the avg stack and it's pot limit. 100-1 may be off but it can't be that far off.

This may be true, but for the life of me I can't see any upside to making a bet like this. Seems like motivation to play hands incorrectly for the sake of not busting early and losing the bet.

For $100 upside?

Just seems really dumb.

I'm sure he made the bet to keep himself focused - he's tweeted earlier about being bored and not having the "mental strength to play high level poker" today extra $10k on the line probably makes it worth while to pay attention

EV-wise it might be a bad bet, but I think it is a good bet in the sense of an extra stimulans for him to really try to get deep and play A-poker
