Can we discuss Cereus specifically? Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

Im not talking about the banks, I am talking about cereus should be working around the clock the second they found out about this to get some sort of a message out to its players. anything would be nice to hear at this point.

I find it funny there are 1010 cash game players on Cereus as of 1:41 pm today (source: pokerscout).

That suggests to me that company is not going to have trouble continuing as a going concern even if it agrees to same deal at PT and PS. A LOT of those tables must contain foreigners.

I just want them to release a message so I know if I can get my money and/or still play on the site. I can play now but I dont want to jeopardize anything by playing on it while everything is still in limbo.

It takes me a week to decide which refrigerator to buy and you want them to make a decision about business survival and bucking the US government quicker?

I share everyone's frustration with the lack of information, but we went through this when money was frozen at Neteller also. It takes awhile to work this stuff out.

According to pokerscout they have lost 50% of their players in a few days. Not sure that's good.

I'm not logged on now, but the other day I saw very very few non-US players.

EDIT: Merge has more cash players than Cereus now and I think that's been true over at least the last two or three days. 1876 Merge vs 1059 Cereus as of 2:05 pm.

“No individual player accounts were ever frozen or restrained, and each implicated poker company has at all times been free to reimburse any player’s deposited funds,” Bharara said in the statement.

Sounds like Cereus is trying to steal our money to me. At this point, I'd rather all the funds be seized and be in the hands of the DoJ since they have expressed a desire to pay out all American players. Trust them over the crooks at Cereus.

Not a decision obv. But a statement about anything would be nice!! Let us know our funds are safe and secure, anything would be nice to hear at this point.

UK, just received my payout from AP into Moneybookers account. Requested last Thursday/authorised last Saturday.

(The bigger payout that I requested on Saturday is still "requested")

That is less than half of what it would typically be pre-4/15 and its been dropping each day. US players are slowly bailing with the uncertaintly. The deal w/Sebok telling people not to play while the site still allows it is pretty strange. If I had a roll on there, I would take it to the casino and put it on the virtual horseracing. Its pretty cool. Plus, at this rate its gonna be a year before the BBJ gets over a million.

Echo that, I would just like them to make some kind of statement. Perhaps they don't know what they are going to do, and are still exploring options.

IMO, this is not accurate. Paying American players was always contingent on accepting the deal with the government. UB/AP has not accepted "yet" but the deal remains on the table. That's what the lawyers are and should be discussing.

I am assuming they have not released a statement about "US player" funds being secure and paid out soon because if they choose to fight this, that money will almost definitely be tied up for a long time pending the outcome of a trial etc... When the lawyers decide what to do, we will find out.

Yes there's clearly a point in which US players will simply stop playing. It's different for everybody, but the games are awful the last couple days.

Uh, they have already made that statement.

They stated they hired US legal council to advise them.

Feel bad for Stars and Full Tilt players though... they get the **** end of the deal.
I'm pretty sure we are not allowed to do p2p transfers

Even if this is true, they could still release a statement saying that our funds our secure and they are exploring all options before deciding on a course of action.

Not recommending anything, but if a transfer is required, why not just chip dump?

I don't get the "make a deal" part. What deal exactly did Stars and Tilt make? Seems like they got their .com domains back, nothing more nothing less. The press release says they were always free (even expected) to take care of players. The real issue is getting at the seized funds and nothing in the press release suggests that releasing funds is included for any of the companies. Now, its certainly possible (probable even) that Cereus lawyers are negotiating on whether all accounts were properly and legally seized. They are also probably haggling over whether specific accounts used to hold "player deposits" should be released.

And stfueuros, please stop hurting my feelings. You are making me feel like a little girl.

you're risking your account, their account, and all the money in both accounts.

Do you know if they hold the players money in a separate players account like Tilt and Stars do? I heard that they don't.

So your telling me that this statement couldn't have been made sooner? Nice work UB/AP
04-21-2011 , 06:11 PM
So I guess Cliff notes are:

Yes, we are still here. Yes, we've noticed the whole mess. Yeah, we kinda want to return the money to US players. We'll do a bit more reading and thinking and then let you know. See ya.
04-21-2011 , 06:12 PM
It's slightly better than nothing.
