Imo it is meant as derogatory, and for those offended by it, well... Did you also cry when you got called a nerd on the playground as a kid? Thought so.

On a more serious note, telling a fish that he is a fish is similar to talking a wad of cash and setting it on fire. PLEASE, FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, JUST THINK IT. Training videos help them enough as is.

I try to keep my mouth shut , and I agree with the fishes to try to give them false confidence, like this one guy at my table was telling me that people called him a fish for shoving with K2 against three other players all in. Of course he sucked out and the other called his a donkey, so I when along with his story and gladly took his 200$ buy in at my table. Just agree, or shut up and it will payoff in the end!
