is calling people fish or donkey mean?

whenever i hear a player being called a fish or a donkey i feel the same way i do when i hear someone being called a racial slur.

when i hear the term fish i think of a drooling idiot with barely a brain cell. but they're not that at all - they're just people who don't play a game that well.

it has nothing to do with their intelligence or ability.

it especially irks me when i hear players referred to as fish in training site videos.

its no secret that the weak players are dwindling and i'm sure that being called fish is not helping at all.

anyone agree/disagree?

inb4 op is a fish

You're a racial slur.

But yes, I actually agree with you to a certain extent about 'fish'. Not that it's too much of insult, but it's just such a...a strange one. And yeah, when it's used in a training video it makes me cringe.
Strangely enough, I don't mind 'donkey' - it seems no worse than 'idiot'.
Ok I realize I'm not making much sense, lol.

I agree. It really irritates me live when people berate the way others play the hand. I don't mind being called it, usually happens a couple of times a day; right after I take their money.

Re: is calling people fish or donkey mean?

I am a fish. I play live and could be slightly +E in the 3-5 game in LA but usually play higher because the stakes at 3-5 dont interest me. I am not a complete donk at higher stakes but I am -EV. One time a low stakes pro/grinder razzed me a little and my answer to him was simple. "the level you play to make a living is the level I play just to pass time and enjoy myself. I may be a fish in the game but you would be a fish in my life".
