I love how the most vocal anti-bum-hunters are railbirds who don't even play poker. Followed by flash-in-the-pan kids who are either going to go broke or become bum-hunters themselves.

The once mighty Johnny Lodden is a great example of this. The original play anyone anytime HU champ is now a scared money shortstacker.

The idea that game selecting is bad for poker seems completely baseless to me. Fish want to play poker because they enjoy it. They don't care what the pros are doing when they're not around.

I am the COO of Leggo.

The only employees Leggo has every had are me and Vitas. We both still work for Leggo and have never spoken to LA before. The below quote is false.

Quote:
I recently received a PM from someone who wished to remain anonymous who used to work for Leggo Poker. That person told me that when they worked for Aejones, he told several coaches who worked for him to call me out on 2+2 or do anything to try and create a lot of 2+2 buzz because they felt that by using me to draw attention to themselves, the word would easily spread about Leggo Poker and that they would gain extra sign ups. The anonymous person told me that it was nearly the focal point of their marketing strategy. The felt the 2+2 market was so valuable that gaining as much notoriety for themselves would lead to them building a nice business for themselves.
Only about 1/2 way through the thread so if this has already been sorted, my bad, it's just too funny to pass up.

Edit: Besides programmers who never actually spoke directly to Aaron.

Why does it not surprise me that aejones employed an ex-cocktail waitress to be the COO of Leggo Poker?

It certainly explains the lack of reading comprehension.

I know they're not the same, but w/e I think what aejones said about that particular issue holds water.

Didnt AEJones join leggo a few months after it was formed?

Really? I've been on 2.2 for quite some time, and never got that impression. In fact, quite the opposite--what stood out most to me about Krantz was always how kind he was to everyone at every level. If you were ever coached by him, you'd feel like you are a HSNL grinder the way he respects you and gives credence to your opinions and views.

I don't like all this gossip about Aejones, LA, and others; it's baseless and childish. It's like in Pulp Fiction, Uma says John Travolta, "When you and your scamps get together, you're worse than a sowing circle."

How is it possible to play so many tables and hands even at 400nl and bumhunt???

I think at 400nl + if you where to bumhunt bad you'd be sitting out alot of the time waiting for some bums!

QFT Really. I don't even know what the debate is here. If you're the type of player that plays poker for reasons other than maximizing money (like needing to feed ur ego b/c you "beat the best"), then all the power to ya. Knock urself out. But don't dog people who play strictly to maximize profit, which is really only gonna come by playing +EV games as often as possible.

I thought this was the whole point of playing?

deep down anyone who is good at poker bumhunts on some level. i.e. you play a game it sucks you leave. you should have at least some class about it especially live games. show up play an hour and leave.

lol

I don't play high stakes, but I have a hard time imaging 16 tabling 50-100k hands per month and calling it "bumhunting". Leatherass is obviously kind of douchey and AEJones is obviously kind of an ass. Both are also admirable in their own right. What a boring dispute...

IIRC it is something like..."if you can't spot the sucker at the table, no worries, just add more tables so you can make supernova!!!11111!!"

AE Jones issue with LA is kind of ridiculous. Having said that, I don't agree with LA stalking fish and getting up the second they get up. If everyone did that the fish would never find a game where they could play.

I don't even know what bumhunting is anymore, with all these threads. Now I think it's not playing with all regs? Or, sitting with fish can be incidental, but not purposeful.

There's a reason there's not a ton of NL $5k+ games going...the toughest regs don't want to play each other all day long--everyone looks for edges, obv.

This aejones dude is a hypocritical moron. He complains about bumhunting yet he is running a fricking poker training which has helped turn thousands (tens of thousands?) of bums into regs. He has done much much more 'harm' to the game than leatherass.
