We arrived at the table in time to see a heated argument between Brandon Cantu and Matt Szymaszek during a hand of 2-7 Triple Draw. When we came upon the scene, tournament director Dave Lamb was making a ruling over the hand. We're unsure of the action but voices quickly became louder with Cantu arguing over the outcome of the ruling.

Jesse Martin, from the next table over, shouted to Lamb, telling him that Szymaszek "played draw games every day", knew the rules, and was not attempting to angle shoot.

"Shut the f**k up," retorted Cantu, bluntly.

From there, the arguing match between Cantu and Martin escalated.

"You're an angle shooter, Brandon," said Martin. "Nobody f**king likes you."

From there, an angered Cantu made his way over to Martin's table. Despite the presence of another floor staff member in between the two of them, Cantu stormed over and attempted to shove Martin before the floor was fully able to intervene. Cantu quickly made his way back to the table and went back to pleading with Lamb over the ruling.

"Get him out of here!" said Martin. "He punched me. Ban him,. Get him out of here."

By the end of the confrontation, four different floor members and six security guards surrounded the table. Lamb gave Cantu a one-round penalty for being disruptive, which tournament director Dennis Jones quickly increased to a two-round penalty. Cantu stormed out of the Amazon Room and play continued on.

If he really pushed him then he can def get him banned.

Poker world needs more Jesse Martins and fewer Cantus for sure.

Don't know the guy at all but neither of these guys sound like anybody that I want to be associated with. Makes me more and more proud to be an online pro doing his thing from home. Plenty of time to spend with my family/friends and come and go as I please.

I maybe make it into a live card room 1-2 times a year, and I almost cringe with the overwhelming "feel" or "ora" of sadness I get from the place. I guess it's the place the guys who can't beat online go, because nobody in their right mind would choose live over online if they had a choice.

Jesse has always been very friendly and cordial in my interactions with him. From playing with both of them and the stories I've heard, I think Cantu deserving everything he gets is a really safe assumption.

That and people who live in the USA where online poker is banned in 96% of the states.

I get that the popular choice will be to lambaste Cantu in all of this but maybe Martin, who was not in the hand or at the table, should have minded his own business and stayed out of it.

Cantu has been involved in numerous incidents at wsop over the years and is always the instigator. Whining over things not going his way, attempted angle shooting, picking fights, etc. Obviously we don't know fully what went down, but have no reason to say that Jesse shouldn't have gotten involved. Cantu well known than the other player involved and w/o jesse getting involved, floor coulda easily sided w cantu.

How in the hell isn't he getting 86'd for assulting Martin ?

i'm still waiting for details on the hand between cantu and szymaszek that started this whole episode. what if it turns out that the floor ruling that had cantu so agitated was indeed a bad ruling? i'm also surprised we haven't seen a pic on twitter yet showing the entourage of security and floormen
