Wow. For some reason I think this is the most damning evidence that it was a bot. It makes absolutely no sense to do that.

What if he/she got chat banned? But wouldn't the host know if he was chat ban?

Also when PokerStars 7 was newly launched, there was a bug which wouldn't let me chat. I was hu and I couldn't make a deal and my opponent started abusing me and there was no way I could respond to him. I had to call moderator and I told mod to tell my opponent that I'm unable to type in chat box. Whatever that was, that bug was fixed.
I remember when Imdanuts got 3 handed in the TCOOP main that betudontbet won. They paused for a deal. Imdanuts was chat banned and kept sitting in and out to show he couldnt chat. They quickly reinstated his chat to discuss a deal.
Fun fact - The 3rd player in chips requested a lot more money and betudontbet was in 1st place and was going to get near 1st place payout in said deal. Imdanuts replied 'lol. Lets play'.
He finished second.

Was just trying to offer an explanation. Agree with you there though - It really sounds dodgy.

1200 tournament count - any tourney regs fancy looking into their HH vs botreg?

In June he played $27 buy ins and 11 cent ones, obviously could've been busto, but everything about this account seems shady.

newbie question: what happens if you are chat banned during a deal? can you talk?

wow, all of that just doesnt make sense, honestly. First of all, why would bot choose to make a deal? Even if that's some programming error (a bizzare one, if I might add, as you would have to specificly request bot to do that), wouldnt the bot owner monitor the action once bot hits FT? It's not like 48k is pennies for anyone. Or at least give a phone number he can acces (even from a burner) in case someone decides to check up on the account? And then there's a bustout hand, which does make sense for a human (commit urself without shoving to increase fold equity), but bots usually aren't programmed that way.

For sure a very strange situation and I hope that Stars will release some sort of statement once they conclude their investigation.

what do you exactly have to do, if you want to click the "deal" button?

When your opponents wants a deal, does it come as a pop up with yes/no? or "ok"

Because then you can easily explain this as well, programs like tableninja and co, do automatically close all ok popups and other stuff

So a bot has to have this function as well

Bot owner afk => Bot makes FT => propgramming error triggers deal => Bot owner comes back, sees the chat and decides to bust out in a human way to cover it up

no, you have to tick a box in the corner of the table

yeah, that is the most likely scenario, still a lot of very bizarre events in it

If a bot can click all the other action buttons, why cant it click the MAD button, either on purpose or programming error?

I realize it would be silly for a bot to do it but is seems possible.

Hard to imagine a bot would even be profitable in a 82$ BIG ANTE turbo tournament. These play way different than regular freezeouts (+theres heavy icm considerations etc). Best players in the world struggle to profit in mid-high stakes turbos (tcoop obv a bit softer).

No idea how he didnt notice any of the attempts to contact him.

I just did that the other day - the $27 was the TCOOP free ticket promo .. and the 11c tourneys are my regular game loll

The $27 game for me was just a one time thing - but if the villain from the op was mixing stakes, guess in addition to all the other stuff, would that maybe be unusual?

Very strange FT situation - even at the FT's of my 11c games, everybody gets very excited. They don't come around very often ... congrats OP on your win, so nice!!

That's maybe possible ...

Maybe another possibility might be that he was stalling so a friend could come over to help?

ICM is math and computers are pretty good at it. Also how come that he resumed play immediately after the failed deal? According to sharkscope he hasn't played since. OPR rating for 2015 is 27.78% and last 120 days 99.88%. Very strange.

how does this "private chat" look like?

btw not that odd to ignore his phone while playing high stakes mtt-s.
