I just got this txt from *TT* of 2p2 and he told me to post this:
3 remain in the event. Justin now has a chip lead (although slim)
Quote:
Justin open shoved on button with A3, alex Gonzolez snap called with 33. Flop paired and then river paired. Justin win w a high, jumps for joy, hugs his family , me and Mike Matusow , when he lands he tears his ACL. He is playing now, with leg on ice. Doug Dalton offered a room for the night if he needs it
This is how WPT is reporting it:
Quote:
Hand #151: Justin Smith Doubles Through Alex Gomes
Level 25: 50,000-100,000, 10,000 ante
Justin Smith limps from the button for 100,000, Alex Gomes raises from the big blind to 575,000, and Smith thinks for about a minute before he says, "I'm all in." Gomes immediately calls with 8club8spade, and he'll need it to hold against Smith's KspadeJclub to bust him here.
The board comes Adiamond7diamond3clubQheart10spade -- Justin Smith rivers an ace-high straight to win the pot and double up.
We're not sure exactly what happened, but Justin Smith injured himself during his celebration with his friends on the rail. A seat has been brought over to him near the rail so he can rest for a moment -- we have no clear indication on the nature of his injury at the moment.
Justin puts his arm around Mike Matusow's neck as Matusow carries him back to the final table -- clearly favoring one leg over the other. Justin says he might have torn his ACL, but he will play on. (He tore both of his ACLs when he was younger.) Someone will be bringing ice to him to pack his knee.
Seat 1: Faraz Jaka - 5,905,000
Seat 4: Alex Gomes - 3,580,000
Seat 5: Justin Smith - 6,600,000
*TT* says it's the A3 hand, as the one they have here is before the injury. It's reported wrong on the WPT site.
Justin is now playing, leg up on another chair, with ice on his knee.
I know Justin fairly well, he's a really good guy, and a helluva poker player, I wish him the best. And hope his knee is not all that bad, GOGOGOGOGOGOGO GL!
